Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Senior HVAC + MEP Designer in Abu Dhabi to lead the drafting, coordination and execution of MEP/HVAC systems for infrastructure and facility projects.

The role involves generating HVAC layouts, air flow diagrams, MTOs and detailed design drawings using AutoCAD, Revit MEP and Navisworks. Ideal candidates will have 12-15 years in HVAC/MEP design, 5+ years in Oil & gas, and a Diploma or Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, with both onshore and offshore exposure preferable.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related) with Middle East experience.
• Experience in HVAC and MEP design for infrastructure projects.
• Ability to draft, coordinate and execute MEP/HVAC drawings and layouts.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems, ventilation, air conditioning and ductwork layouts.
• Draft equipment layouts for AHUs, FCUs, blowers, chillers, etc.
• Prepare 2D air side system drawings and coordinate with architectural/structural teams.
• Model equipment based on vendor data and generate MTO/BOQ.
• Coordinate with disciplines to integrate MEP systems into building designs.

Title

Senior HVAC + MEP Designer

Job Requirement

Senior HVAC+ MEP designer with proven experience in drafting, coordination and execution of MEP and HVAC systems for infrastructure projects, process buildings, facility building, control rooms etc.

The Designer will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and preparing engineering drawings for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems in building projects, prepare/ validate HVAC air flow diagrams, HVAC layouts, Generate HVAC MTO, Equipment modelling etc. The role involves developing detailed design layouts for piping, ducting, sanitation etc., ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards, and coordinating with architects, structural engineers, and project teams for successful project execution.

It is preferred to have exposure in infrastructure, hydrocarbon, petroleum refinery industries Greenfeld/ brownfield work, Concept, FEED and detailed engineering of medium to large scale projects in Middle east required. Plus to have both onshore and offshore experience but not mandatory. To be based in Abu Dhabi- UAE.

Key Skills & Technical Competencies

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, and MS Office.
• Well versed in preparing Air Flow Diagrams and PIDs in AUTOCAD / MICROSTATION independently.
• Basic understanding of HVAC systems ability to communicate in English
• Hands-on experience in E3D modelling including routing of HVAC ducting including accessories like Grilles, dampers, Louvers, etc. based on Air Flow Diagrams and PIDs specifically for Offshore Projects.
• Working knowledge in S3D is an added advantage
• G.A. Drawing Extraction in PDMS.
• Support Selection and Modeling as per Support Standards.
• Generate HVAC MTO
• Basic Knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, NBC, IS Codes, IEC, and local regulations is good to have but not mandatory

Job Responsibility and Requirement

• Design HVAC systems, ventilation, air conditioning, and ductwork layouts.
• Drafting Equipment layout for Air Handling Units, Fan Coil units, Blowers, Chillers, etc.
• Layout & detailed drawings for air side systems like ducting and accessories in 2D when required
• Equipment modelling based on Vendor data
• Equipment modelling based on Vendor data
• Design and drafting of supports, accessories like Grilles, dampers, Louvers, etc.
• Prepare Schematics, issued for construction drawings and generate BOQ ( Bill of quantities)
• Coordinate with Architectural, Structural, Process, and Utility disciplines and contractors to integrate MEP systems into overall building designs.
• Develop detailed HVAC, Plumbing and electrical system design using AUTO CAD and Revit MEP
• Perform load calculations, duct sizing, and equipment selection to ensure optimal system performance.

Experience Required

• 12-15 years of experience required in HVAC, MEP design
• Minimum 5+ Years of experience in Oil & gas industry.

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, or related field. from a recognized institution with relevant experience in Middle east.
