Job summary

EDGE, based in Abu Dhabi, seeks a Senior Logistics Officer to coordinate import/export shipments, manage customs clearance, and liaise with freight forwarders and suppliers. You will monitor shipments, prepare documents, and optimize costs while ensuring timely delivery.

The role requires 5+ years in logistics, strong English, and proficiency with MS Office and ERP systems. A Bachelor’s in logistics or related field is mandatory; Master’s is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in logistics or supply chain.
• Hands-on experience with import/export shipments and customs clearance processes.
• Experience coordinating with freight forwarders, shipping agents, transporters, and suppliers.
• Good knowledge of shipping and logistics documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
• Strong written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate import and export shipment schedules with partners.
• Monitor shipments and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
• Coordinate customs clearance requirements, permits, and NOCs.
• Prepare and review invoices, packing lists, delivery notes, and letters.
• Coordinate with shipping agents on vessel schedules and clearance.
• Negotiate freight rates and reduce demurrage costs.
• Arrange third-party transportation and logistics support.
• Support export shipments with competitive freight quotations.
• Coordinate with Finance on payments related to shipments.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments.
• Assist in logistics budget preparation and monitoring.
• Ensure on-time and cost-effective outbound delivery.
