Job summary

Exalans & Hunar - Your Virtual HR! seeks an experienced General Insurance Officer in Dubai to manage underwriting across P&C classes. The role requires strong risk assessment, policy understanding, and ability to negotiate with insurers for timely service delivery.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of practical General Insurance underwriting experience, a relevant degree, and professional qualifications such as ACII/AIII/FIII. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of practical experience in General Insurance underwriting.
• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Strong technical knowledge of General Insurance and P&C.
• Underwriting principles, risk assessment, policy wordings, exclusions, warranties, and deductibles.
• ACII/AIII/FIII qualifications are highly desirable.
• Experience in insurance brokerage is an advantage.
• Experience in General Insurance claims handling is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Handle general insurance quotations, renewals, policy issuance, endorsements, and related insurance transactions.
• Review and analyse proposals, risk information, policy terms and conditions, warranties, exclusions, and deductibles.
• Evaluate coverage and recommend improvements and extensions.
• Obtain and negotiate competitive quotations, premiums, terms, and conditions with insurers.
• Prepare comparative quotation analyses and proposals.
• Coordinate with insurers, clients, and internal departments to ensure prompt service delivery.
• Proactively follow up on quotations, renewals, endorsements, and pending matters.
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and organized workflows.
• Assist with claims coordination, documentation, and follow-up when required.
• Ensure high standards of accuracy, productivity, responsiveness, and customer service.
• Manage multiple assignments while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.
