Job summary

GDIT is seeking a Volume Lead/Lead Writer to drive technical and management proposal volumes from $25M to $1B+ in the federal space. The role requires coordinating with capture and solution teams to articulate people, process, and tools, and to shape win themes and discriminators across complex proposals.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in federal proposal development, leadership on large pursuits, and a strong grasp of evaluation criteria and competitive positioning.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of federal proposal development experience, including leadership on complex pursuits.
• Experience with large IDIQs, task-order environments, or assisted acquisition models.
• Experience integrating AI-enabled tools into proposal workflows.
• Proven ability to shape and review large, compliance-driven proposals.
• Experience as Volume Lead, Book Boss, or Lead Proposal Writer.
• Strong understanding of proposal strategy, evaluation criteria, and competitive positioning.
• US Person status.
• Ability to work independently and with large teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Volume Lead for proposals ranging from $25M to $1B+.
• Lead management proposal solutioning for large, complex pursuits.
• Write assigned proposal sections based on interviews and best practices.
• Partner with Capture and Solution teams to articulate people, process, tools.
• Shape win themes, discriminators, and proof points for volumes.
• Identify and mitigate proposal risk early.
• Mentor more junior proposal staff.
