Position Overview

The Senior Engineer - Asset Integrity Management opportunity in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates within the Oil and Energy industry is responsible for safeguarding the integrity, reliability, and lifecycle performance of ADNOC assets. The role serves as a Technical Authority for Facility Integrity, providing specialist oversight across pipelines, structures, wellhead towers, static equipment, wells, corrosion management, inspection, maintenance, operating integrity, and process safety while supporting risk reduction and operational excellence.

Role Context

This position provides senior technical leadership for Asset Integrity Management across ADNOC 's onshore and offshore operations. The Senior Engineer coordinates integrity requirements across engineering, projects, drilling, production, maintenance, inspection, corrosion management, well integrity, and process safety functions. The role supports assets throughout design, construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance, intervention, and lifecycle improvement. It also monitors Asset Integrity Management System performance and provides management with clear visibility of integrity risks, maintenance and inspection priorities, KPI trends, corrosion threats, outstanding remedial actions, and overall asset condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as Technical Authority for Facility Integrity and provide expert guidance during asset design, construction, commissioning, and operational stages.
• Support implementation and continuous improvement of the Asset Integrity Management System in accordance with ADNOC Upstream Integrity requirements and applicable industry standards.
• Participate in project technical reviews and pre-startup safety reviews to verify that integrity requirements are incorporated before facilities enter service.
• Work with multidisciplinary engineering and operational teams to integrate Facility Integrity requirements into offshore and onshore assets.
• Coordinate with contractors and specialist service providers to ensure compliance with integrity requirements, technical specifications, codes, and recognized industry practices.
• Monitor Asset Integrity Management KPIs and evaluate trends requiring technical intervention or management attention.
• Coordinate corrosion mitigation and condition monitoring programs within approved budgets.
• Ensure corrosion management, integrity assessment, and quality control activities comply with company requirements and applicable industry standards.
• Verify that maintenance and repair plans for static equipment and pipelines are developed and executed in accordance with quality, HSE, and integrity requirements.
• Ensure inspection findings, corrosion data, equipment condition information, and significant integrity issues are accurately recorded in relevant data management systems.
• Review Management of Change submissions and technical dispensations associated with continued operation of assets affected by integrity concerns.
• Track assets operating under approved dispensations and monitor associated risk indicators.
• Provide Facility Integrity and Process Safety guidance to contractors and service providers.
• Review integrity reports and ensure required remedial actions are recorded, assigned, and tracked to completion.
• Analyze integrity threats and communicate significant trends, risks, and mitigation requirements to field teams and management.
• Lead investigations into asset integrity incidents and equipment failures.
• Conduct root cause analysis and establish appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Issue integrity reports covering inspection findings, corrosion conditions, integrity risks, and recommended mitigation measures.
• Follow up remedial activities to ensure equipment condition is restored within required timelines.
• Oversee implementation and effectiveness of chemical treatment programs used for internal corrosion control.
• Review intelligent pipeline and facility inspection results and recommend appropriate inspection, monitoring, or repair programs.
• Provide technical support to operations teams on corrosion prevention, quality control, inspection, condition assessment, and equipment fitness-for-service.
• Conduct technical investigations into metallurgical deterioration and failures affecting static equipment and pipelines.
• Drive implementation of Annual Integrity Plans and provide management with clear progress updates.
• Facilitate integrity verification audits and failure investigations and monitor implementation of corrective actions.
• Promote continuous improvement through adoption of stronger integrity practices and lessons learned.
• Manage Asset Integrity interfaces between engineering, projects, drilling, operations, production, maintenance, and inspection functions.
• Act as a technical advisor for Facility Integrity Management activities.
• Support development and implementation of company Asset Integrity Management programs.
• Coordinate with Projects, Drilling, and Site Operations to ensure well barriers are appropriately designed and integrity is maintained throughout the asset lifecycle.

• Conduct onshore field trips and site visits when required to support production operations and integrity verification.
• Audit well and asset integrity compliance at operating locations.
• Provide technical input during site visits associated with new development projects.
• Attend vendor workshops to witness technical activities or conduct audits on behalf of ADNOC.
• Plan, supervise, and coordinate assigned integrity activities to meet functional objectives.
• Train and develop assigned personnel to strengthen technical capability and competency.
• Support integration and professional development of UAE National employees.
• Provide input into functional budgets and approved work plans.

Ideal Profile

The successful candidate should hold a degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent engineering discipline. Candidates should bring 8-12 years of relevant engineering experience involving Asset Integrity Management, investigation and evaluation of integrity issues, risk assessment, risk ranking, and mitigation planning. Strong knowledge of Asset Integrity Management sub-elements is required, including Pipeline Integrity Management Systems, Structural Integrity Management Systems, corrosion integrity, maintenance and inspection, Well Integrity, and Operating Integrity. The role requires a strong technical understanding of asset construction and completion design together with practical experience in maintenance and integrity philosophies and operating practices. Experience managing Asset Integrity for both offshore and onshore structures within a large oil and gas environment is highly relevant. The successful candidate should be capable of providing independent technical judgment, challenging established practices where appropriate, leading investigations, communicating complex integrity risks to management, and coordinating multidisciplinary stakeholders and specialist contractors.
