Job summary

American University of Sharjah is seeking a Senior Specialist, Employee Affairs and Services to guide day-to-day employee relations and services. You will advise Colleges/Departments on relations matters, ensuring policy alignment and confidentiality while supporting a fair workplace culture.

The role also covers policy monitoring, investigations, and the rollout of engagement initiatives to improve morale and reduce turnover across the AUS community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business admin, or related field.
• At least four years of progressive HR experience focusing on employee relations.
• Knowledge of HR disciplines including policies, compensation, and organizational design.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication.
• Discretion and integrity when handling sensitive information.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and resolve conflicts diplomatically.

Responsibilities

• Act as first point of contact for employee relations matters in Colleges/Departments.
• Support implementation of employee relations initiatives aligned with AUS values.
• Assist in monitoring and updating HR policies for compliance.
• Investigate complaints fairly and confidentially.
• Support employee engagement initiatives to reduce turnover.
• Administer disciplinary actions and grievances per policies and laws.
• Handle leave, contracts, probation, terminations, and housing coordination.
