Job summary

American University of Sharjah is seeking a Senior Specialist, Employee Affairs and Services to guide day-to-day employee relations and services. The role provides HR guidance, ensures policy compliance, and fosters a fair workplace culture across colleges and departments.

The successful candidate will support housing coordination, disciplinary actions, and policy administration while upholding AUS values and confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
• Four (4) years of progressive HR experience with focus on employee relations.
• Knowledge of HR disciplines including policies, compensation and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Act as first point of contact for Colleges/Departments on day-to-day employee relations matters and escalate complex issues.
• Support development and implementation of employee relations initiatives aligned with AUS goals and values.
• Handle grievances, disciplinary matters and disputes in line with AUS policies and labor laws.
• Support research and rollout of employee relations initiatives to boost engagement and retention.
• Administer disciplinary actions, investigations, and ensure confidential handling of cases.
• Assist in leave management, contract administration, probation and terminations; support housing policy coordination.
