Job summary

The American University of Sharjah seeks a Senior Specialist, Employee Affairs and Services to lead day-to-day employee relations and services, advising colleges and departments and ensuring consistent HR policy implementation. This role emphasizes fairness, engagement, and wellbeing within AUS's culture.

You will handle grievances, investigations, and disciplinary actions, support housing coordination, and drive initiatives to improve retention and job satisfaction while complying with AUS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business or related field.
• Minimum of four years in HR with focus on employee relations.
• Knowledge of HR disciplines including policies, compensation and rewards.
• Strong interpersonal, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Discretion and integrity with handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for Colleges/Departments on day-to-day employee relations matters, providing timely, business-focused advice and support, and escalating complex issues to the Senior Manager.
• Support the development and implementation of employee relations initiatives that align with AUS's organizational goals, culture and values.
• Promote positive employee relations practices that enhance AUS's culture and improve workplace productivity within assigned Colleges/Departments.
• Handle day-to-day employee relations cases, including grievances and disciplinary matters, ensuring fair and consistent handling.
