Job Overview
The Senior Electrical and ICA Engineer is responsible for leading supervision, quality assurance, and commissioning of electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation systems across stormwater networks and pumping station infrastructure. This position ensures that all systems are installed safely, tested accurately, and delivered according to approved specifications, authority requirements, and operational performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, monitor, and coordinate all electrical and ICA works for stormwater networks, pumping stations, and related infrastructure.
- Review and approve contractor shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and testing plans for compliance with project specifications.
- Develop and implement QA and QC procedures including inspection and test plans and commissioning checklists.
- Conduct inspections and witness testing for cable installations, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, control panels, instrumentation systems, SCADA, and telemetry equipment.
- Verify loop checks, PLC programming, control logic, and SCADA system integration.
- Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, NFPA, DEWA, and RTA standards along with project‑specific design criteria.
- Coordinate interfaces between electrical, mechanical, and civil teams to ensure proper sequencing and system integration.
- Monitor contractor progress and report deviations, risks, and corrective actions to the Resident Engineer.
- Support FATs, SATs, energization activities, commissioning, and final handover documentation.
- Review and verify as‑built drawings, operation manuals, maintenance manuals, and training documentation.
- Provide technical support for design queries, RFIs, and contractor change requests.
- Enforce strict HSE compliance during electrical isolation, energization procedures, and confined‑space operations.
- Assist in evaluating progress claims, technical submittals, and variation proposals.
- Mentor junior engineers and inspectors while promoting best practices in safety, documentation, and technical quality.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in electrical engineering with at least 3 years in infrastructure or utility projects.
- Proven experience in NDRC and Micro‑tunnelling projects is mandatory.
- Strong expertise in pumping stations, stormwater systems, and electrical infrastructure commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE, NFPA, DEWA, and RTA requirements.
- Experience in QA and QC systems, ITP development, and commissioning protocols.
- Strong understanding of SCADA systems, PLC programming, and telemetry integration.
- Experience in FATs, SATs, loop checks, and system commissioning is essential.
- Leadership experience in mentoring junior engineers and inspectors is preferred.
