Job summary

ARX UAE is seeking a Design Manager with a minimum of 12 years in design management to lead multidisciplinary teams across civil, structural, architectural, MEP and other design streams.

You will own design delivery from concept through to construction, coordinate with clients and authorities, and ensure compliance with UAE/GCC codes while maintaining value and programme. Arabic is an advantage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 12 years in design management or multidisciplinary design coordination.
• At least 5 years in a lead design management role.
• Minimum 5 years GCC experience including UAE authority exposure.
• Experience leading design on complex infrastructure, transport, buildings, or mixed-use projects.
• Knowledge of UAE and GCC codes and authorities; familiarity with BS/EN/ASHTO/ASHRAE.
• Experience with BIM-enabled coordination and document-control platforms.
• Commercial and programme awareness, including fee monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Lead the multidisciplinary design team across civil, structural, architectural, MEP and specialist systems.
• Oversee design delivery from concept to construction and close-out.
• Coordinate with client, subconsultants, contractors, suppliers and authorities.
• Review and approve design deliverables for quality, constructability, and compliance.
• Chair coordination meetings and drive decision documentation.
• Manage design change control and audit trails.
• Identify and mitigate design risks and interface issues.
• Drive BIM-enabled delivery and CDE workflows.
• Coordinate with planning and commercial teams to align progress with programme and budget.
• Contribute to proposals and design delivery strategies.
