Job summary

ARX is seeking a Project Manager for UAE offices in Dubai/Abu Dhabi. The role requires leading complex infrastructure projects with deep GCC experience, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring budget, schedule, and quality targets are met.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years in project management, 5+ years as accountable PM, and strong client-facing skills. Fluent English and knowledge of UAE processes are essential; Arabic is a plus. We offer a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 12 years in project management with at least 5 years as the accountable PM.
• At least 5 years of GCC/UAE experience is required.
• Proven experience managing complex infrastructure, transportation, or major development projects.
• Strong ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and communicate credibly with stakeholders.
• Sound commercial awareness including FIDIC contracts, change control, and fee management.
• Working knowledge of project controls: baseline scheduling, progress measurement, and risk registers.
• PMI/APM or chartered status is preferred; FIDIC contract administration experience is expected.
• Arabic language capability is an advantage; excellent English is required.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of project scope, programme, budget, quality, and client satisfaction.
• Coordinate consultants, contractors, authorities, and ARX internal teams.
• Manage scope, deliverables, schedule, resources, budget, risk, and changes.
• Establish and maintain the execution plan, responsibility matrix, risk log, and logs.
• Track progress against baseline and address delays with clear recommendations.
• Coordinate inputs across disciplines for design, reviews, and construction support.
• Chair project meetings, issue minutes, and close out actions.
• Manage contract administration, variations, and fee monitoring.
• Handle project risk, approvals, stakeholder requirements, and interfaces.
• Ensure document control and traceability of deliverables and correspondence.
• Prepare progress, commercial, and risk reporting to client and ARX management.
• Mentor junior staff and uphold ARX standards for quality and accountability.

Project Manager - 100% (m/f)

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 years' project management experience, including at least 5 years in the GCC and preferably in the United Arab Emirates, with a proven record of managing complex infrastructure, transportation, or major development assignments from initiation through delivery and close-out. The role combines technical understanding with practical project leadership, commercial control, client-facing communication, and disciplined follow-up across multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and authorities. The Project Manager holds overall accountability for scope, programme, budget, and the client relationship; technical design authority rests with the Design Manager and the discipline leads.

Responsibilities

• Hold overall accountability for delivery of the assignment scope, programme, budget, quality, and client satisfaction.
• Act as ARX's primary point of contact for the client, and coordinate consultants, contractors, authorities, and internal technical and commercial teams.
• Manage scope, deliverables, schedule, resources, budget, risk, and change across the full project lifecycle.
• Establish and maintain the project execution plan, responsibility matrix, risk register, deliverable tracker, and decision log.
• Track progress against baseline, identify delays and blockers early, and elevate with a clear recommendation rather than an open question.
• Coordinate technical inputs across disciplines and ensure design, review, and construction-support activities are properly sequenced and resourced.
• Chair project meetings, issue minutes and action lists within an agreed turnaround, and close out commitments to deadline.
• Manage the commercial position: contract administration, variations and change control, invoicing inputs, fee monitoring, and cost-to-complete.
• Manage project risk and interfaces, including authority approvals, stakeholder requirements, construction constraints, and commercial exposure.
• Ensure deliverables, correspondence, approvals, and submissions are properly recorded and remain traceable through document control.
• Prepare and present progress, commercial, and risk reporting to the client and to ARX management, through to project close-out.
• Build a collaborative team culture, mentor junior staff, and uphold ARX's standards for technical quality, responsiveness, and accountability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 12 years' relevant experience in project management, engineering management, design coordination, or consulting delivery, of which at least 5 as the accountable project manager.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in the GCC is required; UAE project experience is a strong advantage.
• Proven experience managing complex infrastructure, transportation, or major development projects.
• Strong understanding of the project lifecycle: scope definition, planning, design coordination, procurement and construction support, reporting, and close-out.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary technical teams and communicate credibly with clients, contractors, consultants, and authorities.
• Sound commercial and contractual awareness, including FIDIC-based forms of contract, change control, fee management, and claims.
• Working knowledge of project controls: baseline scheduling, progress measurement, risk registers, and interface management.
• Primavera P6 or MS Project, MS Office, and CDE / document-control platforms such as ACONEX, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or SharePoint; Power BI is an advantage.
• PMP, APM (PMQ or ChPP), chartered status, or equivalent is preferred; practical FIDIC contract administration experience is expected.
• Familiarity with UAE authority approval processes for example Dubai Municipality, RTA, DEWA, Trakhees, or Abu Dhabi DMT is an advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal English is required; Arabic language capability is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, organisational, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills, with concise and decision-ready reporting
