Qualifications

• University degree in legal, insurance or related field.
• Professional insurance qualification (ACII/AIISA/ACILA) or progress towards.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in reinsurance claims or 8–10 years in claims handling.
• Strong technical expertise in non-life claims, including large losses.
• Solid understanding of reserving practices and adequacy assessment.
• Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Analytical and solution-oriented mindset under pressure.
• Self-motivated, proactive and collaborative working style.

Responsibilities

• Manage and perform legal and technical assessment of major and complex claims.
• Evaluate and monitor reserves, including large losses and loss complexes.
• Negotiate outcomes and initiate subrogation where appropriate.
• Coordinate specialised actions such as loss inspections and risk prevention.
• Advise cedents on claims matters and conduct due diligence exercises.
• Build relationships with clients, brokers and internal stakeholders for service excellence.
• Provide claims insights to underwriting and client management with lessons learned.
• Analyse claims data to identify trends and opportunities for portfolio improvement.
• Support development and application of digital tools and analytics in claims management.
• Contribute to knowledge-sharing, training and market engagement activities.
• Ensure compliance with internal guidelines and regulatory governance.
