Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Civil/Mechanical Engineer – Solar PV to bridge civil foundations, mechanical layout and tracking systems for utility-scale PV plants. You will review designs, optimize layouts, and supervise on-site execution to ensure wind loads, tolerances, and alignment meet project requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of planning and scheduling experience with at least 2 years on utility-scale Solar PV projects.

Responsibilities

• Enforce mechanical torque auditing programs and ensure fasteners are tightened to specification.
• Generate daily/weekly construction reports and track progress vs. schedule.
• Resolve structural-to-mechanical interface clashes (piling vs MV cabling).
• Review subcontractor shop drawings, calculation sheets, material submittals, and BBS for concrete foundations.
• Interface with electrical team to align tracker drives with power supplies and controls.
• Review/approve layouts for fixed-tilt and single-axis trackers (Nextracker, ATI, Arctech).
• Ensure strict mechanical tolerances for tracker alignment and damper installations.
