Job summary

Wood is recruiting for Senior Construction Superintendents - Civil to support a major project in Abu Dhabi. You will provide field leadership and oversight for all civil construction activities, ensuring work is safe, on schedule, and compliant with project specifications.

The role requires extensive site experience on oil and gas or industrial projects, proven contractor management, and strong leadership to coordinate with engineering, procurement, quality, commissioning and client

Qualifications

Bachelor of Engineering in Civil.
Minimum 15 years of oil & gas, petrochemical, energy, infrastructure, or industrial project experience.
Being in a similar role for at least 5 years.
Proven experience managing EPC contractors, subcontractors, and large site construction teams.
Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise all civil on-site construction activities.
Ensure civil works comply with project specifications, drawings, procedures, standards, and regulations.
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure HSEQ compliance.
Monitor contractor performance and progress to achieve milestones.
Coordinate earthworks, foundations, utilities, roads, and concrete structures.
Review work packs, method statements, risk assessments, and lifting plans.
Conduct on-site inspections, audits, and resolve field issues with engineering teams.
Support planning, scheduling, progress measurement, and forecasting.
Interface with engineering, procurement, quality, commissioning, and client representatives.
Provide leadership and mentorship to construction supervisors and junior team members.
