Senior Onsite Construction Lead – Oil & Gas Projects

Job summary

Wood is seeking an experienced Construction Manager in the UAE to oversee on-site activities for high-profile oil and gas projects, ensuring on-time delivery, cost control, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage field construction, commissioning, and handover, and coordinate with clients and contractors on complex, >$500M projects, with travel as required.

Qualifications

• Degree with a minimum of 20 years Oil and Gas industry experience, including at least 5 years on major capital projects, (> 500 M USD) with Construction Management and Site Management focus
• Experience within an Oil and Gas operating company is also highly desired and may be considered in lieu of capital project experience
• Must have excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, with a strong command of the English language.
• Must be willing to travel extensively for multi-week periods and have the flexibility to adjust work location to support project needs
• Must be qualified to obtain a CICPA and a UAE work visa

Responsibilities

• Assures the quality and integrity of each project, bringing projects in on schedule and within budget
• Using in-house construction management procedures and experience, provide continuity and consistency of construction management with quality assurance and reliable control
• Oversees total construction field effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, specifications, budgets and schedules

• Responsible for construction and contractor related deliverables
• Supervises all areas on small projects and / or a subset / discipline on larger projects
• Management of installation, commissioning and completion activities of materials and equipment
• Coordinates field personnel work schedules to maximize utilization and ensure work is delivered on schedule
• Ensure safety, quality and environmental responsibilities and accountabilities have been defined and communicated to workers engaged within their area(s) of control
