Job summary

Sheraton Grand Hotel, Dubai is seeking a Senior Bartender to lead beverage service at the hotel’s bar. You will craft cocktails, maintain standards, and mentor junior bartenders while ensuring guest satisfaction and beverage quality.

You will manage stock, assist with opening and closing procedures, upsell specialty drinks, and uphold health, safety, and hygiene requirements in a fast-paced luxury environment.

Job description

To prepare and serve beverages for guests in a professional, efficient, and engaging manner while supporting the daily operation of the bar. The Senior Bartender is responsible for maintaining high service standards, mentoring and training bartenders, ensuring product quality and consistency, controlling inventory, and contributing to revenue generation through upselling and exceptional guest experiences..

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Project a positive, professional, and welcoming image to all guests at all times.
• Deliver exceptional guest service while anticipating and exceeding guest expectations.
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of beverages, cocktails, wines, spirits, and current industry trends.
• Prepare and serve beverages according to hotel standards, recipes, and presentation guidelines.
• Create memorable guest experiences through personalized recommendations and product knowledge.
• Maximize revenue opportunities through effective upselling and promotion of specialty beverages.
• Ensure compliance with billing policies, cash handling procedures, and beverage control standards.
• Assist supervisors and managers in the daily operation of the bar and outlet.
• Lead by example in maintaining service excellence and operational efficiency.
• Support the onboarding, coaching, and training of bartenders and new associates.
• Monitor service quality and provide guidance to team members to ensure consistent standards.
• Assist in scheduling, task delegation, and coordination of bar operations during shifts.
• Ensure all beverage stations are fully stocked, organized, and service-ready at all times.
• Prepare mixers, garnishes, fruit preparations, syrups, and other bar requisites.
• Conduct opening and closing procedures, ensuring all standards are completed accurately.
• Monitor stock levels and communicate replenishment requirements to management.
• Assist with monthly inventory counts, stock control, and variance management.
• Minimize waste through proper handling, storage, and portion control procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, storage areas, equipment, and guest-facing areas.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health, safety, and fire regulations.
• Address guest concerns and complaints professionally, escalating when necessary.
• Support departmental objectives and hotel initiatives.
• Complete all required training programs and participate in development activities.
