Job summary

dubizzle is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I - Backend to join our fast-paced team in the UAE. You will collaborate with backend engineers, QA, design, and Tech Team Leads to advance our stack and scale to millions of monthly active users.

You will own end-to-end lifecycle, design RESTful APIs, participate in architecture decisions, mentor peers, review PRs and push for reliable, efficient systems across our platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering required or equivalent.
• 6+ years of back-end software engineering in Python (Django) preferred.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Strong knowledge of design patterns, asynchronous programming, and caching.

Responsibilities

• Understand the codebase and technology stack within weeks.
• Lead feature planning and release roll-out/roll-back strategies.
• Write and maintain high-quality, tested code following standards.
• Design and deliver REST-based APIs; work with SOA concepts.
• Mentor peers in a peer-programming environment; review major PRs.
