Job summary

BBI in Dubai seeks a senior software engineer to architect and build REST and GraphQL APIs and microservices using Python (FastAPI/Flask) and Node.js (Express.js). You will design, implement and document scalable services that meet performance and security requirements.

Qualifications

• 5-9 years of professional software-engineering experience with a focus on API development
• Proficiency in Python and Node.js, with frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask or Express.js
• Extensive knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases; API security best practices
• Experience with cloud platforms and a strong background in CI/CD, Docker and Kubernetes

Responsibilities

• Architect, design and develop REST/GraphQL APIs and microservices (Python FastAPI/Flask, Node.js/Express.js)
• Build video-metadata processing and event-driven systems
• Design and optimise database schemas across relational and NoSQL stores (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, TimescaleDB, Redis)
• Implement message-broker-based pipelines (Kafka/RabbitMQ) and authentication/security (JWT, OAuth)
• Optimise API performance; design and maintain CI/CD pipelines; containerise with Docker, orchestrate with Kubernetes
