Overview
This role is suitable for a candidate with relevant educational qualifications, strong leadership ability, KHDA framework knowledge, and experience managing teachers, student progress, parent communication, and section‑level school operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Year 3 section and ensure high standards of teaching, learning, behaviour, and student progress.
- Provide professional leadership to academic staff assigned to the section by the Head of School.
- Support the development of a stimulating, creative, inclusive, and productive learning environment.
- Maintain a strong disciplinary code of conduct for students and staff in line with school expectations.
- Allocate teaching duties, administrative duties, and section‑related tasks to academic staff in consultation with the Primary Head.
- Support Subject Coordinators in improving teaching quality, curriculum delivery, assessment practices, and student outcomes.
- Lead and manage daily section operations while working collaboratively across the school to achieve wider school objectives.
- Monitor teaching pedagogy, classroom practice, assessment methods, and student engagement across Grade 3.
- Ensure learning strategies inspire high levels of achievement and progress for students of all abilities.
- Contribute to resource planning, classroom organization, teaching materials, and section‑level academic requirements.
- Advise on the development and implementation of school policies, procedures, and improvement practices.
- Assist the Head of School in managing section resources and supporting efficient school operations.
- Track student progress, review assessment data, and support intervention planning where required.
- Promote child care, child protection, safeguarding, health and safety, and student wellbeing across the section.
- Build and sustain high‑performance teams through guidance, collaboration, accountability, and professional support.
- Maintain strong relationships with parents and support effective communication with the parent community.
- Contribute to KHDA inspection readiness, assessment evidence, section documentation, and school improvement priorities.
- Support school events, staff meetings, professional development activities, and wider school initiatives.
- Perform other section leadership and academic duties assigned by the Head of School or senior leadership team.
Ideal Profile
- Relevant educational qualification is required.
- Previous experience in a primary leadership, section head, year group leader, or similar academic leadership role is preferred.
- Experience in a British curriculum school is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of Year 3 learning expectations and primary school pedagogy.
- Knowledge of KHDA inspection and assessment frameworks is required.
- Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English.
- Strong strategic planning, organisation, and team leadership skills.
- Knowledge of child care, child protection, safeguarding, and health and safety practices.
- Experience in developing and sustaining high‑performance teaching teams.
- Strong relationship management skills with parents, teachers, students, and school leadership.
