Role Context

The Sales Associate will represent the brand throughout the customer journey, from the initial greeting through product selection, payment, and after-sales support. The role combines selling, product knowledge, customer engagement, merchandising, stock handling, and cashier responsibilities. By understanding customer needs and following structured selling practices, the Sales Associate will help improve conversion, average transaction value, repeat business, and overall store performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and create a professional and engaging first impression.
• Understand customer requirements and recommend products that match their needs, preferences, and budget.
• Convert browsing customers into buyers through proactive assistance and relevant product suggestions.
• Follow the GUEST service model: Greet, Understand, Explain, Sell, and Thank.
• Promote the company's loyalty program to support customer retention and repeat sales.
• Maintain knowledge of brands within the group to support effective cross-selling and alternative product recommendations.
• Explain product features, benefits, materials, usage, and care instructions accurately.
• Upsell complementary or premium products where they add genuine value to the customer.
• Maintain a well-groomed and professional appearance throughout each shift.
• Keep product knowledge current across new arrivals, collections, promotions, and seasonal merchandise.
• Ensure merchandise is displayed according to approved store layout and visual merchandising standards.
• Follow VM guidelines for product presentation, fixtures, and clearance merchandise.
• Replenish products on the sales floor to maintain strong availability throughout trading hours.
• Re-merchandise displays when required to maintain presentation standards and support commercial priorities.
• Record incoming and outgoing inventory movements accurately.
• Maintain awareness of current stock availability to improve customer recommendations.
• Communicate promotions and relevant product offers clearly to customers.
• Operate the Point of Sale system accurately and efficiently.
• Process cash, credit card, voucher, and approved electronic payment transactions.
• Issue receipts, refunds, and change correctly.
• Balance and reconcile the cash till at the beginning and end of assigned shifts.
• Maintain vigilance regarding store security and immediately report suspicious activity.
• Follow company SOPs and loss prevention requirements at all times.
• Handle merchandise carefully to reduce avoidable stock loss or damage.
• Support other operational duties assigned by the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
• Remain flexible to work extended hours during sales campaigns, promotional periods, and other peak trading periods.

Ideal Profile

The preferred candidate will hold a bachelor's degree and demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience in a retail sales, customer service, cashier, fashion, lifestyle, beauty, footwear, or similar customer-facing position is preferred. Candidates should be comfortable approaching customers, identifying buying needs, explaining products, and recommending suitable alternatives or complementary items. A customer-oriented attitude is essential, together with the confidence to support upselling and cross-selling without compromising service quality. Experience operating POS systems, handling different payment methods, processing refunds, and maintaining cash accuracy will be advantageous. The successful candidate should also demonstrate strong product learning ability, attention to visual presentation, and flexibility regarding shifts and extended working hours.
