Role Context

The Retail Sales Representative supports both revenue generation and the smooth running of the store. The position is customer-facing throughout the working day and requires strong awareness of merchandise, service standards, transaction procedures, visual presentation, and basic store controls. When required, the representative may also assume broader operational responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers immediately and create a professional, approachable shopping environment.
• Provide clear and relevant information about product categories, features, pricing, and availability.
• Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable merchandise based on individual needs and preferences.
• Maintain timely follow-up with customers during the shopping journey.
• Thank customers sincerely at the end of each visit and encourage future engagement.
• Capture customer information accurately in the approved database for future communication.
• Work toward assigned weekly sales goals and contribute to overall store targets.
• Promote gift cards and relevant additional products where appropriate.
• Identify opportunities to increase transaction value through suitable add-on sales.
• Assist the Store Manager with opening, closing, and routine daily operating requirements.
• Manage assigned store responsibilities when the Store Manager is unavailable.
• Attend store meetings and participate actively in operational discussions.
• Complete additional store duties assigned by management according to business priorities.
• Follow approved pricing and ticketing procedures to reduce errors and protect against financial loss.
• Support physical inventory counts and merchandise verification activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and customer-ready store environment.
• Perform housekeeping tasks as required throughout trading hours.
• Ensure visual presentation standards remain consistent across merchandise and customer areas.
• Train new colleagues on Point of Sale procedures and routine transaction requirements.
• Help resolve basic POS errors and apply corrective actions within assigned responsibility.
• Follow company policies, security procedures, and operating standards consistently.
• Work cooperatively with colleagues and management during high-traffic periods and changing shift requirements.

Ideal Profile

• High School Degree or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of retail sales experience.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Friendly and professional approach to customer interaction.
• Good awareness of fashion trends and changing customer preferences.
• Ability to learn and explain product information accurately.
• Comfortable working toward weekly sales targets.
• Previous exposure to Point of Sale systems is advantageous.

• Flexible approach to shifts and changing operational needs.
• Ability to work effectively with peers and management.
• Capable of standing for a minimum of 8 hours during scheduled shifts.
