Six Senses The Palm, Dubai seeks a Restaurant Hostess to welcome guests, seat them, and ensure exceptional dining experiences across resort restaurants. You will be responsible for greeting guests, assisting with menus, taking orders, and supporting service staff to maintain smooth operations.

The role requires a hospitality diploma/degree, fluency in English, and familiarity with MICROS/POS systems and MS Office. A strong guest‑facing focus and professional appearance are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum hospitality diploma/degree from a recognized hospitality institution.
• More than one year’s experience in a similar operational role in luxury hotels is preferred.
• Advanced MS Office skills and familiarity with MICROS/POS platforms.

As Food & Beverage Restaurant Hostess my duties and responsibilities will include the following:

• Greet guests on arrival in resort restaurants and conduct welcome procedures in an efficient and friendly manner, using guest name whenever possible as per Six Senses Standards.
• Answer outlet telephone courteously and efficiently as specified in departments standards.
• Escort guest to the table and assist in seating and present the water, menu and hand towels.
• Inspect condition and cleanliness of menus and wine list, ensure designated amounts are available, and update menus or wine lists as changes occur.
• Ensure that all guests are greeted courteously and attentively in the working area.
• Take orders from any food & beverage outlet menus.
• Ensure all mis-en-place for restaurant service is correctly prepared prior to opening hour of service.
• Follow the leadership of the captain or supervisor on shift.
• Have a good knowledge of all outlet menus and F&B day to day activities.
• Recommend and promote items as directed by supervisor.
• Ascertains guest satisfaction and ensure that all guest billing procedures are handled correctly, minimizing rebates during check out and bid guest farewell.
• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance, grooming and hygiene.
• Knowledge of all safety, security and emergency procedures related to my position in line with brand and statutory requirements.
• Ensure the privacy of guests, partners and residential owners, I will apply an extra level of protection to any sensitive personal data and use confidential information only to perform my job.
• Ensure all equipment of the department is kept clean and in good working condition.
• Upsell all property facilities and activities.
• Knowledge and strict adherence to LQA standards.

Qualifications

To execute the position of Restaurant Hostess, I have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar or greater role in luxury hotels with proven results. I possess a minimum hospitality diploma/degree from a recognized hospitality and more than one year’s experience in a similar operational role.

Technical skills include Advanced MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. I am also familiar with various hotel systems including MICROS/point of sell platforms. I have knowledge of hotel/resort and policies on discounts/food promotion etc.

I am familiar with Food and beverage terminology, application, operation, wine service, costs, menu development food and hygiene codes and controlling inventory. I have an excellent command of written and spoken English with some knowledge of the local language and customs.
