Simone's Tutoring in Dubai seeks a qualified Regional/National Sign Language Tutor to teach learners of all ages, covering ASL, BSL, SASL, Arabic Sign Language, and other recognised languages. We are seeking a qualified and culturally sensitive Regional / National Sign Language Tutorto teach learners of all ages effective communication through recognised sign languages.
Applicants may specialise in one or more recognised sign languages, including but not limited to:
American Sign Language (ASL)
British Sign Language (BSL)
South African Sign Language (SASL)
Arabic Sign Language variants
Other nationally recognised sign languages
The successful candidate will provide structured instruction in receptive and expressive signing, fingerspelling, grammar, vocabulary, Deaf culture, communication strategies, and inclusive communication practices.
Assess learners' communication goals and prior experience
Develop personalised sign language programmes
Deliver one-to-one and small-group lessons
Teach vocabulary, grammar, syntax, and conversational signing
Develop receptive and expressive communication skills
Teach fingerspelling and facial expressions appropriate to the language being taught
Introduce Deaf culture, etiquette, accessibility, and inclusive communication practices
Prepare learners for recognised proficiency examinations where applicable
Support families, educators, and professionals working with Deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals
Adapt lessons for children, teenagers, adults, and workplace learners
Monitor learner progress through ongoing assessment
Maintain safeguarding, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity
Bachelor's degree in Education, Deaf Education, Special Education, Linguistics, Sign Language Interpreting, Communication Disorders, or a related field, or equivalent recognised professional qualification
MOHRE Tutor Permit or eligibility to obtain
Minimum 2 years' experience teaching a recognised sign language
Native, near-native, or professionally certified proficiency in the sign language(s) taught
Strong understanding of Deaf culture and inclusive communication
Master's degree in Deaf Education, Linguistics, Inclusive Education, or a related discipline
Recognised interpreter or instructor certification
Experience teaching in schools, universities, or community programmes
Experience supporting inclusive education
Experience preparing learners for recognised sign language qualifications
Ability to teach multiple recognised sign languages
Tutors providing sign language education must hold a valid MOHRE Tutor Permit or equivalent work authorisation before providing private educational services.
Applicants must accurately represent their qualifications and should only teach sign languages in which they hold recognised proficiency or professional competence.

Compensation
Earn 60% commission on all checked-in, completed, and fully paid lessons and language programmes.
