Job summary

Simone's Tutoring seeks a passionate British Sign Language tutor to support children, adults, families, educators and professionals in Dubai. The role focuses on personalised lessons and promoting Deaf culture awareness while adapting to individual goals.

The tutor will assess progress, teach BSL concepts, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. MOHRE Tutor Permit is required or eligibility to obtain it.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Education, Linguistics, Special Education or related field or equivalent experience.
• MOHRE Tutor Permit or eligibility to obtain.
• Minimum 2 years' experience teaching or tutoring British Sign Language.
• Demonstrated fluency in British Sign Language.

• Assess students' current BSL proficiency and communication objectives.
• Deliver personalised one-to-one or small-group British Sign Language lessons.
• Teach BSL vocabulary, grammar, conversational signing, receptive and expressive communication.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced British Sign Language (BSL) Tutorto support children, adults, families, educators, and professionals in developing effective communication through British Sign Language. You will deliver personalised lessons that promote language fluency, confidence, accessibility, and understanding of Deaf culture while adapting instruction to each learner's individual goals and communication needs.

Key Responsibilities

Assess students' current BSL proficiency and communication objectives

Deliver personalised one-to-one or small-group British Sign Language lessons

Teach BSL vocabulary, grammar, conversational signing, receptive and expressive communication

Introduce learners to Deaf culture, etiquette, and inclusive communication practices

Adapt lessons for children, adults, families, and professionals

Prepare students for recognised BSL qualifications where applicable

Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents

Collaborate with Simone's Tutoring specialists to provide holistic educational support

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Education, Linguistics, Special Education, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

Demonstrated fluency in British Sign Language

Preferred Qualifications

Recognised BSL teaching or interpreter qualification

Experience working with Deaf or Hard of Hearing learners

Experience teaching children and adults

Knowledge of inclusive education practices and communication support

UAE Licensing Requirements

Tutors and educational specialists operating in the UAE are required to hold a valid MOHRE Tutor Permit or equivalent work authorisation. Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, the relevant permit before providing in-person services. Please ensure compliance with UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation regulations.
