Job summary

Gardinia Contracting is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage cost control, measurement, and contractual administration for landscape and swimming pool projects across the UAE. Working on live execution sites, you will collaborate with site engineers, project managers and procurement to ensure commercial alignment and accurate cost reporting.

You should have 5-8 years of UAE-based experience, a degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering, and strong knowledge of BOQ

Responsibilities

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage cost control, measurement, and contractual administration for landscape and swimming pool execution projects across the UAE. The role requires hands-on experience working within a UAE-based contracting firm on live execution sites.

Responsibilties:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and budgets for landscape and swimming pool packages from tender stage through to project close-out.
• Carry out accurate measurement of works executed on site and prepare interim payment applications (IPCs) in line with contract terms.
• Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations for landscaping, irrigation, hardscaping, and swimming pool works.
• Prepare and negotiate variation orders, claims, and final accounts with clients and consultants.
• Monitor project costs against budget, flag cost overruns early, and support project managers with cost forecasting and cash flow reporting.
• Verify subcontractor payment certificates and reconcile against measured works and approved rates.
• Maintain accurate records of material, labour, and plant costs specific to landscape and pool execution activities.
• Liaise with site engineers, project managers, and procurement teams to ensure commercial alignment throughout project execution.
• Support contract administration, including review of contract conditions, correlation of scope, and risk identification.
• Ensure compliance with UAE contracting standards, FIDIC-based contracts, and client-specific commercial procedures.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a UAE-based contracting firm.
• Proven experience specifically on landscape and swimming pool execution projects in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of measurement standards (e.g., POMI/CESMM), BOQ preparation, and cost reporting.
• Solid understanding of FIDIC and UAE construction contract forms, variations, and claims management.
• Proficiency in cost management software and MS Excel; working knowledge of AutoCAD for take-offs is an advantage.
