Job summary

Latinem in the United Arab Emirates seeks a seasoned Quantity Surveyor Engineer to manage all cost-related aspects of construction projects, ensuring financial efficiency and budget compliance. You will prepare take-offs, BOQs, cost estimates, and monthly reports while controlling variations and payments to optimize profitability.

The role requires 4–10 years of UAE/GCC experience in high-rise or mixed-use developments with strong ERP, AutoCAD, and Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional certification in Quantity Surveying (advantageous).
• 4 to 10 years of experience in Quantity Surveying and Commercial functions.
• Experience in high-rise residential, commercial, villa, or mixed-use construction projects.
• GCC/UAE experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
• Develop BOQs for tendering and procurement purposes.
• Conduct rate analysis for new and existing work items.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budget forecasts.
• Verify quantities executed at site and maintain quantity records.
• Monitor project costs against approved budgets.
• Track cost variations and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, cash-flow forecasts, and cost-to-complete analysis.
• Analyze material and labor productivity to optimize project costs.
• Prepare and certify subcontractor interim and final payment certificates.
• Review client payment applications and supporting documentation.
• Verify subcontractor invoices, quantities, and work completion status.
• Assist in final account preparation and settlement.
• Review contract documents and highlight commercial risks.
• Manage variations, claims, extension of time submissions, and contractual correspondence.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project specifications.
• Maintain records of contractual communications and approvals.
• Assist procurement teams in evaluating vendor quotations.
• Prepare cost comparison statements and recommendation reports.
• Coordinate with procurement and project teams on material requirements.
• Prepare material reconciliation reports and wastage analysis.
• Monitor project progress and support preparation of monthly commercial reports.
• Maintain quantity tracking registers and cost monitoring tools.
• Provide commercial inputs during project review meetings.
• Liaise with project managers, planning engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and clients.
• Support project teams in resolving commercial and contractual issues.
