Job summary

Dutco Construction is seeking a highly skilled QS Manager to lead quantity surveying and commercial functions across multiple projects in the UAE. The ideal candidate will drive cost leadership, manage end-to-end commercial operations, and ensure alignment with project requirements and industry standards.

With 15+ years in QS roles, including 3–5 years in management within construction or MEP, you will oversee BOQ, cost planning, value engineering, and contract administration, while coordinating

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering.
  • MRICS or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 8–12 years of QS experience, including 3–5 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, value engineering and cost control.
  • Solid understanding of FIDIC, variations, claims and dispute resolution.
  • Expertise in BOQ preparation, rate analysis, tender evaluation and cost benchmarking.
  • Ability to lead QS teams and coordinate with PMs, consultants and subcontractors.
  • Excellent communication for client, consultant, contractor interactions.
  • Hands-on experience with CostX, MS Excel, AutoCAD, Primavera and ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of UAE market rates, suppliers and regulatory standards.

Job description

We are looking for a highly skilled QS Manager with a strong background in construction and main contractor environments to lead our quantity surveying and commercial functions across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional cost leadership, deep contractual knowledge, and proven experience managing end‑to‑end commercial operations. This role requires strategic thinking, stakeholder coordination, and the ability to drive cost efficiency while ensuring full compliance with industry standards and project requirements.

  • Professional Qualification — Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering; MRICS or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Relevant Experience — 8–12 years of QS experience, including 3–5 years in a managerial or lead QS role within construction, infrastructure, or MEP projects.
  • Cost Management Expertise — Strong background in cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, value engineering, and cost control.
  • Contract Administration — Solid understanding of FIDIC, variations, claims, contractual correspondence, and dispute resolution.
  • BOQ & Estimation — Expertise in BOQ preparation, rate analysis, tender evaluation, and cost benchmarking.
  • Commercial Leadership — Ability to lead QS teams, manage commercial strategy, and coordinate with project managers, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Stakeholder Coordination — Excellent communication skills to manage clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Software Proficiency — Hands‑on experience with CostX, MS Excel (advanced), AutoCAD, Primavera, and ERP systems.
  • Risk & Compliance — Ability to identify cost risks, ensure compliance, and maintain audit‑ready documentation.
  • Reporting Skills — Strong capability in preparing cost reports, cash flow projections, variation logs, and monthly commercial dashboards.
  • Team Management — Experience mentoring QS teams, reviewing deliverables, and improving QS processes.
  • UAE Market Knowledge — Familiarity with UAE construction market rates, suppliers, subcontractors, and regulatory standards.
Criteria

Degree in QS/Civil Engineering; MRICS preferred

15+ years QS experience, including managerial roles

Expertise in cost planning, budgeting, value engineering

Strong knowledge of FIDIC, variations, claims

Proficiency in CostX, Excel, AutoCAD, ERP

Strong reporting, documentation, and risk management
