Job summary

Drake & Scull International is seeking a QA/QC Engineer (Civil) to manage quality control activities on civil works and ensure conformance with project specs, approved drawings, and consultant/client expectations. You will drive corrective actions with a practical site understanding and strong documentation discipline.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and at least five years of QA/QC experience in contracting projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 5+ years of civil QA/QC experience on contracting projects.
• Strong knowledge of ITPs, method statements, inspection requests, and test reports.
• Experience in structural, finishing, waterproofing, and general civil inspections.
• ISO 9001 awareness or internal auditor qualification.

Responsibilities

• Implement project quality requirements, ITPs, method statements, inspection checklists and QA/QC procedures.
• Coordinate and raise inspection requests for civil works including rebar, formwork, concrete, blockwork, waterproofing and finishing.
• Review material approvals, MIRs, test certificates, third‑party reports and laboratory test results.
• Identify non‑conformances, issue/track corrective actions and ensure timely NCR closure.
• Coordinate with site teams, consultants, subcontractors and testing agencies for inspections and quality approvals.
• Maintain QA/QC logs, inspection records, NCR registers, test reports, quality dashboards and handover records.
• Support root‑cause analysis, preventive actions, snag clearance and close‑out documentation.
• Promote a quality culture across site teams while supporting project delivery targets.

About You

• Experience in structural, finishing, waterproofing and general civil construction inspections.


• Ability to coordinate effectively with consultants, site teams, subcontractors and laboratories.


• Strong documentation, reporting, follow‑up, communication and problem‑solving skills.


• ISO 9001 awareness or certified internal auditor qualification.


• UAE/GCC high‑rise, hospitality, residential or commercial project experience.


• Experience with Aconex, Procore, SharePoint or similar project documentation systems.
