Job summary

Propel Consult in Dubai is seeking a Senior Mechanical (MEP) Project Lead to manage mechanical works for high-rise residential and commercial towers, villa communities, and complex commissioning phases.

You will coordinate HVAC, plumbing and fire fighting, supervise site teams and subcontractors, ensure DEWA and Civil Defense approvals, and drive risk mitigation and schedule adherence across multi-discipline interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required.
• PMP / PSP / MEP or equivalent certification would be an added advantage.
• 15 years UAE/GCC experience in MEP for building projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee MEP activities for building construction projects (high-rises, villas).
• Plan, coordinate and execute HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Fighting works.
• Manage project cycle from planning to handover and testing.
• Review schedules, shop drawings, method statements and submittals.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical and architectural teams.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Manage site teams and vendors ensuring quality and safety.
• Ensure compliance with DEWA, Civil Defense and other authorities.
• Monitor progress, costs, and mitigate project risks.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all Mechanical (MEP) activities for building construction projects including high-rise residential/commercial towers and villa communities.


• Plan coordinate and execute mechanical works covering HVAC Plumbing and Fire Fighting systems.


• Manage the complete project cycle: planning procurement execution testing & commissioning and final handover.


• Prepare and review project schedules mechanical shop drawings method statements and material submittals.


• Coordinate mechanical works with civil electrical and architectural disciplines to ensure smooth project execution.


• Liaise with clients consultants subcontractors and internal teams to ensure project requirements are met.


• Manage site teams subcontractors and specialist vendors ensuring quality safety and timely completion.


• Ensure compliance with local authority requirements and obtain approvals from DEWA ADDC DM Civil Defense DCD SEWA FEWA and other relevant authorities.


• Monitor project progress control costs and ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards.


• Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of total experience in Mechanical (MEP) works within building construction.


• 15 years of UAE/GCC experience (mandatory).


• Proven experience in MEPworks for:

• Must have worked with main contractors or major electromechanical contracting companies (consultancy experience will not be considered).


• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC Plumbing Fire Fighting and mechanical coordination.


• Solid understanding of mechanical interfaces with civil works especially in high-rise and villa projects.


• Strong leadership communication and stakeholder management skills.
