Job summary

SOL Properties is seeking a highly experienced Senior MEP Engineer to oversee MEP design coordination, consultant management, site execution and authority approvals for upscale high-rise and luxury residential projects in Dubai.

The role requires deep UAE code knowledge, strong leadership, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks and HAP. You will manage design reviews, clash resolution, QA/QC, and ensure on-time delivery and compliance with DEWA, DCD, DM and Empower.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or MEP Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 12 years of MEP engineering experience in UAE construction.
• Proven experience in high-rise and luxury residential projects.
• Strong knowledge of UAE building codes and authority approvals (DEWA, DCD, DM, Empower).

Senior MEP Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior MEP Engineer with strong UAE construction industry experience to oversee MEP design coordination, consultant management, site execution, authority approvals and technical delivery. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in high-rise and luxury residential projects and strong knowledge of UAE authority requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Consultant Management

• Oversee and manage the consultant team throughout the MEP design stages, from concept design through detailed design.
• Review MEP design concepts and provide technical input to ensure practical, efficient and optimized building systems.
• Ensure MEP designs are coordinated with architectural, structural, civil and other engineering disciplines.
• Review design calculations, technical specifications, drawings and other MEP design deliverables.
• Monitor consultant performance and ensure design deliverables are completed within approved project timelines.
• Identify design gaps, technical risks and coordination issues and ensure timely resolution.

2. Site Supervision & Construction

• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor MEP construction activities and workmanship.
• Ensure works are executed as per approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Monitor HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, electrical and other MEP works.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, suppliers and project teams to resolve site issues.
• Monitor MEP progress and highlight delays, risks and technical concerns to management.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are achieved.

3. Shop Drawings & Technical Submissions

• Oversee the review and approval of MEP shop drawings, material submittals and method statements.
• Ensure consultant comments are properly addressed and technical submissions are closed on time.
• Ensure approved drawings and documents are properly controlled and implemented at site.

4. Authority Approvals

• Oversee MEP authority approval processes and coordinate with consultants and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with DEWA, DCD, Dubai Municipality, Empower and other relevant authorities.
• Monitor authority submissions, comments, inspections and timely closure of outstanding requirements.

5. MEP Coordination

• Coordinate MEP services with architectural, structural, civil and other engineering disciplines.
• Review coordinated layouts and identify potential clashes before execution.
• Support clash detection and resolution using Navisworks and BIM platforms.
• Resolve technical conflicts between different trades to ensure smooth project execution.

6. Change & Variation Management

• Review and manage changes to the approved MEP scope.
• Assess the technical, cost, quality and schedule impact of proposed changes.
• Ensure all modifications are properly documented, approved and communicated to relevant parties.

7. Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure MEP works comply with approved designs, specifications, UAE regulations and applicable standards.
• Monitor quality of installation and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and safe working practices.
• Support testing, commissioning, snagging and final MEP handover.

8. Reporting & Documentation

• Review MEP progress reports and provide regular updates to the Project Manager and senior management.
• Track RFIs, technical issues, approvals, inspections and outstanding actions.
• Maintain proper records of drawings, submissions, approvals, variations and project correspondence.
• Support project close-out and final handover documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or MEP Engineering from a recognised university.
• Minimum 12 years of MEP engineering experience in the UAE construction industry.
• Strong experience working from the developer or consultant side is highly preferred.
• Proven experience in high-rise buildings and luxury residential projects.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, including HVAC, chilled water, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, electrical and ELV coordination.
• Strong understanding of UAE building codes, MEP standards and construction regulations.
• Excellent knowledge of authority requirements and approval procedures, including DEWA, DCD, DM, Empower and other relevant authorities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, HAP, BIM 360 and Microsoft Office.
• Strong experience in consultant and contractor management.
• Excellent technical coordination, communication, leadership and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple MEP activities, stakeholders and project priorities simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of project schedules, budgets, quality requirements and construction procedures.
