Job summary

Client of Orion Consultancy seeks a Project Manager to lead the construction team on a heavily mechanical oil & gas project in the UAE. You will ensure on-time, within-budget delivery while building credible partnerships with Clients and EPC Contractors, applying rigorous, disciplined leadership across the team.

Must have 20+ years in oil & gas major projects, proven EPC/EPCM offshore or onshore experience, and extensive Gulf/Middle East exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required.
• 20+ years of oil & gas experience in major projects.
• Proven EPC/EPCM offshore or onshore project leadership.
• Extensive Gulf/Middle East experience mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of planning, cost control, contracts, risk and HSE.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of project execution to meet budget, schedule, quality and safety.
• Coordinate EPC/engineering procurement construction commissioning and client interface.
• Monitor progress and implement corrective actions to achieve objectives.
• Manage resources, subcontractors and vendors effectively.
• Ensure compliance with contracts, procedures, standards and HSE regulations.
• Provide regular performance updates to senior management and clients.
• Identify risks and opportunities and implement mitigations.

Job description

Project Manager will be responsible for managing the construction team to ensure delivery of the project is on time and within budget for a heavily mechanical oil and gas project He will need to build credibility respectful partnerships with Clients and EPC Contractors and apply rigorous and disciplined approaches to his team whilst delivering the project

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of project execution to ensure delivery within approved budget schedule quality and safety requirements
• Coordinate engineering procurement construction commissioning and client interface activities
• Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to achieve project objectives
• Manage project resources subcontractors and vendors effectively
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements company procedures industry standards and HSE regulations
• Provide regular project performance updates to senior management and clients
• Identify project risks and opportunities and implement mitigation measures

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry in major projects
• Proven experience in managing EPC/EPCM Offshore or onshore Oil & Gas projects from engineering through construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Extensive Gulf/Middle East experience is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of project planning, cost control, contract administration, risk management, and project execution.
• Sound understanding of offshore construction methodologies, fabrication, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with international Oil & Gas standards and HSE regulations.
