Overview

The Role We are looking for a dynamic and results-oriented Project Manager – Mechanical to lead multidisciplinary teams in the execution of shutdowns, turnarounds, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and decontamination across major oil & gas, petrochemical, and power industry projects. The ideal candidate brings strong technical acumen, field leadership, and the ability to manage complex project logistics while ensuring adherence to HSE standards, client specifications, and tight schedules.

Location: GCC / India / International Project Sites

Industry: Oil & Gas | Petrochemicals | Refineries | Power | Marine

Experience: 8+ Years (With at least 3 years in a leadership / project management role)

Employment Type: Full-Time | Project-Based | Site-Based / Rotational

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage project execution of mechanical pre-commissioning and commissioning services including :
• Chemical cleaning, steam blowing, air / N2 purging, hydrotesting, passivation, lube oil flushing, and associated pipeline / equipment activities.
• Review and validate project scope, P&ID, PFDs, ISO drawings, GADs, and technical documentation.
• Develop and monitor project plans, execution strategies, resource planning, and timelines in coordination with clients and internal teams.
• Supervise day-to-day field operations, contractor performance, safety compliance, and manpower utilization.
• Prepare and manage Method Statements, JSA, MOS, Risk Assessments, and ensure documentation aligns with client and industry standards.
• Monitor QA / QC procedures, review test packs, and ensure system readiness for mechanical completion and handover.
• Serve as the primary point of contact with the client, facilitating meetings, progress reporting, and resolving site-level challenges.
• Ensure effective cost control, material tracking, and timely mobilization of tools, equipment, and manpower.

Preferred Project Exposure

• Refineries : BPCL, IOCL, HMEL, Nayara, BORL, HPCL
• International Projects : ARAMCO, SABIC, PETROKEMAYA, YANSAB, JINDAL, HURL

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or petroleum engineering (or equivalent)
• Minimum 8 years of experience, with at least 3 years in a project management role related to chemical cleaning or decontamination.
• Working knowledge of the Middle East is preferred.
• Demonstrated success in managing shutdowns, pre-commissioning and commissioning in large-scale facilities
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills under pressure
• Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and coordinate between clients, vendors, and subcontractors
• Strong knowledge of industrial chemical cleaning procedures such as acid cleaning, alkali boil-out, solvent degreasing, passivation, and foam cleaning.
• Certification in Project Management (PMP) is a plus.

Certifications (Preferred)

• BOSIET / H2S + SCBA / STCW 95 / HAZMAT / Oil Spill / Industrial Safety
• ASNT NDT Level II (RT, UT, LPT, MPT) – Advantageous
• Basic Aspen HYSYS or equivalent process modeling tool – Bonus
