Job summary

Boskalis in Abu Dhabi seeks a Project Engineer Rivers and Dykes to join our engineering team, providing remote technical support for tenders and designs on small to medium projects.

You will draft specifications, develop technical solutions, ensure safety and feasibility, determine scope, supervise work, report progress, and assist on-site. Fluent English required; Dutch is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• 5–10 years of relevant work experience at an infrastructure contractor including experience with methods, techniques and professional software/models.
• Good knowledge of CAD, QGIS and Excel software required.
• Relevant experience with project management and good command of English (written and spoken). Proficiency in Dutch is an asset.

• Drafting specifications and procedures for tenders, projects and designs within specified requirements.
• Designing and developing technical solutions that meet all requirements; offer alternatives and minimize risks.
• Ensure feasibility and safety of proposed solutions to customers/inspectors.
• Determine the scope of engineering work for small projects or parts of complex tenders, including budgeting and supervision.
• Provide progress reporting and identify deviations in time, demand, quality or cost.
• Support on execution of tenders and projects and assist on location as needed.

As a ProjectEngineer Rivers andDykes you will join our engineering team to provideremotetechnical support for small-scale and less complex tenders projects and designs as well as parts of medium to complex ones. Your role ensures that projects meet agreed requirements such as safety quality time budget legal regulations and more.

Your Responsibilities

• Drafting Specifications and Procedures: Independently drafting specifications and procedures for the realization of tenders projects and designs within the set framework and customer and contract requirements to achievean optimalproject result.
• Designing and Developing Technical Solutions:Independently designing and developing (new) technical solutions that meet all requirements. Offering alternative solutions to the customer and minimizing risks.
• Feasibility and Safety Assurance:Convincing external customers/inspectors of the feasibility and safety of the proposed solution/method and the resulting specifications.
• Scope Determination and Supervision:Responsible fordeterminingthe scope of engineering work formainly smallprojects and/or less complex technical tenders or parts of complex projects including personnel planning and budgeting.Supervising and assessing the work of colleagues subcontractors and customers to ensure that tenders projects and designs are carried outin accordance withtherequirements.
• Progress Reporting and Deviation Identification:Responsible for progress reportingregardingsmall projects and/or less complex technical tenders (or parts of complex projects) to internal and external customers. Timely identification of deviations in time demand for engineering capacity quality or costs compared to planning requirements and budget.
• Execution Support and Improvement:Assisting and advising in the execution of tenders and projects sometimes on location. Providing logistical support. Participating in the continuous improvement of departmental processes andproceduresandevaluating the engineering process.

• 5-10years of relevant work experienceatan infrastructure contractor includingexperience with relevant working methods techniques and professionalsoftware and models.

• Relevant experience with project management and good command of English (written and spoken).Proficiencyin Dutch is an asset.
