Job summary

Boskalis in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Project Engineer-roads to support tender projects and designs, ensuring safety, quality, time and budget targets.

You will draft specs, develop technical solutions, manage scope, supervise teams, report progress, and contribute to continuous improvement while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams from our Abu Dhabi office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• 5-10 years of relevant work experience at an infrastructure contractor.
• Good knowledge of CAD, QGIS and Excel software required.
• Relevant experience with project management and good command of English (written and spoken). Proficiency in Dutch is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Independently drafting specifications and procedures for tenders, projects and designs.
• Independently designing and developing technical solutions that meet requirements.
• Feasibility and safety assurance for proposed solutions and specifications.
• Determining the scope of engineering work for small projects and supervising colleagues, subcontractors and customers.
• Progress reporting and deviation identification for small projects and tenders.

As a ProjectEngineer-roads you will join our engineering team to provideremotetechnical support for small-scale and less complex tenders projects and designs as well as parts of medium to complex ones. Your role ensures that projects meet agreed requirements such as safety quality time budget legal regulations and more.

You will have the opportunity for personal and professional growth by working on unique and complex projects in the Netherlands including the design construction and maintenance of dikes and water barriers.

YourResponsibilitiesas a Project Engineer-roads are:

• Drafting Specifications and Procedures:Independently drafting specifications and procedures for the realization of tenders projects and designs within the set framework and customer and contract requirements to achievean optimalproject result.
• Designing and Developing Technical Solutions:Independently designing and developing (new) technical solutions that meet all requirements. Offering alternative solutions to the customer and minimizing risks.
• Feasibility and Safety Assurance:Convincing external customers/inspectors of the feasibility and safety of the proposed solution/method and the resulting specifications.
• Scope Determination and Supervision:Responsible fordeterminingthe scope of engineering work formainly smallprojects and/or less complex technical tenders or parts of complex projects including personnel planning and budgeting.Supervising and assessing the work of colleagues subcontractors and customers to ensure that tenders projects and designs are carried outin accordance withtherequirements.
• Progress Reporting and Deviation Identification:Responsible for progress reporting regardingsmall projects and/or less complex technical tenders (or parts of complex projects) to internal and external customers. Timely identification of deviations in time demand for engineering capacity quality or costs compared to planning requirements and budget.
• Execution Support and Improvement:Assisting and advising in the execution of tenders and projects sometimes on location. Providing logistical support. Participating in the continuous improvement of departmental processes andproceduresandevaluating the engineering process.

Your qualities:

You can make your mark as a Project Engineer-roads if you have:

• Bachelorsdegreeincivil engineering.
• 5-10years of relevant work experienceatan infrastructure contractor includingexperience with relevant working methods techniques and professionalsoftware and models.
• GoodknowledgeofCADQGIS and Excelsoftwarerequired.
• Relevant experience with project management and good command of English (written and spoken).Proficiencyin Dutch is an asset.
