Job summary

Boskalis Offshore Energy in Abu Dhabi seeks a Structural Engineer to support the Global Engineering team in strength verification of vessels and design of temporary works. You will provide up-to-date engineering advice, develop methods, and oversee design and verification across projects.

Requirements include a recognized MSc/BSc in Marine/Mechanical engineering, 5 years offshore experience, and strong FEA skills (Ansys, PyAnsys). English communication and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Recognized MSc or BSc Degree in Marine and Mechanical.
• 5 years of relevant experience in engineering in the Offshore field.
• Proven expertise in FEA tools with advanced skills in Ansys and scripting/automation via Python (PyAnsys).
• Skills in FEMAP RFEM and Mathcad are also appreciated.
• Strong insight into constructability with practical shipyard and offshore considerations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare reports with design and verification calculations for all structural works within the Scope Budget and Schedule.
• Develop various concepts for design and advise on the most suitable solution for the problem.
• Verification of drawings to ensure that these match with engineering performed.
• Initiate and document good engineering practices tools and departmental standards.
• First point of contact during the construction and fabrication of the designed items.
• Managing design and verification works at subcontractor engineering firms.
• Your Typical Deliverables: Sea fastening analyses Global Hull Analyses Lifting point verification Global strength verifications of vessels Jackets and Topsides On Bottom Stability analyses Strongpoint verifications Deck load diagrams etc.

Your responsibilities as a Structural Engineer:

Make your mark as a Structural Engineer at Boskalis Offshore Energy and work for prestigious and challenging offshore projects!
As a structural engineer you will be working for the Global Engineering department of the Boskalis Offshore Energy division. This department is responsible for the strength verification of the vessels in the fleet and designing of various temporary works structures and providing technical support to various business units/departments within the Offshore Energy division. We work with state-of-the-art equipment that meets the highest quality and safety requirements.
We are looking for a pragmatic and solution-oriented engineer with an eye to the role of Structural Engineer you will be able to rely on your technical affinity and experience to make a stable contribution to our team. Provide up-to-date engineering advice and support and assist in the development and improvement of structural engineering working methods tools and equipment.

Your qualities

You can make your mark as a Structural Engineer if you have:

• Recognized MSc or BSc Degree in Marine and Mechanical.
• 5 years of relevant experience in engineering in the Offshore field Practical Offshore experience.
• Proven expertise in FEA tools with advanced skills in Ansys and scripting/automation via Python (PyAnsys). Skills in FEMAP RFEM and Mathcad are also appreciated.
• Strong insight into constructability with practical shipyard and offshore considerations.
• Extensive knowledge of Class rules for vessels (LR BV ABS) offshore structures (DNV API) and Operational guidelines (DNVGL) used by MWS.
• Able to write Basis of Design Design Briefs and specifications.
• A good command of spoken English and academic reporting skills.
