Job summary

Boskalis is seeking a Senior 3D Modeler to translate infrastructure and dredging project concepts into high-quality 3D models and pragmatic 3D designs. You will work within the Hydronamic engineering department in Abu Dhabi on tenders and projects with multidisciplinary collaboration.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, 10+ years in maritime/dredging, and proficiency in Civil3D, Navisworks and SubAssembly Composer. English fluency is essential.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering degree or equivalent; practical working and thinking level.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in maritime/dredging industries.
• Knowledge of Civil3D together with SubAssembly Composer and Navisworks.
• Experience with a common data environment (CDE).
• Knowledge of CAD/BIM standards, regulations and guidelines.
• Proficient in the English language.

Responsibilities

• Develops 3D designs, reviews 3D models and creates models using software and techniques; coordinates models for implementation.
• Reviews drawings and reference designs; determines what to model in each construction phase.
• Identifies interfaces, risks and opportunities in the project model; assists with coordination.
• Advises and supports design and projects teams on technical aspects; creates animations to illustrate processes.
• Guides and coaches you to work in the Boskalis development toolchain and business.

As a Senior 3D Modeler you make a difference by transforming your passion for infrastructure and dredging projects into high-quality 3D models and detailed but pragmatically made 3D designs continuously growing and taking on challenges in your field in order to contribute valuable insights to projects within Boskalis.

You find it important to continue developing yourself and to keep challenging yourself in your field so that you can make a valuable contribution to projects. You understand that project based work requires a balance between speed and accuracy; what you model will be constructed outside very soon.

As a 3D modeler you work in the Hydronamic engineering department. Hydronamic has a team of around 80 people in different design disciplines working from the main office in Papendrecht on projects and working from our new offices in Abu Dhabi. Hydronamic is responsible for the construction designs in tenders and acquired projects within the Dredging division of Boskalis often with an integral and multidisciplinary character.

Your responsibilities as a Senior 3D Modeler:

• Develops 3D designs reviews 3D models and creates models using software and other tools methods and techniques. Coordinates these models to optimally facilitate the implementation of the geometrical designs.
• Reviews drawing specifications and reference designs and gathers all necessary information. Determines what needs to be modeled in each construction phase.
• Identifies interfaces risks and opportunities in the project model assists with coordination.
• Advises and supports design and projects teams on technical aspects and inquiries creates animations to provide insight into processes and constructions.
• We will guide and coach you to work in our development toolchain and the Boskalis business for you to quickly.

Your qualities

• Civil Engineering Survey or similar Bachelors degree level of working and thinking.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the maritime and/or dredging industry.
• You have knowledge of modeling software Civil3D in combination with SubAssembly Composer and Navisworks
• You have knowledge of working in and maintaining a common data environment.
• Knowledge of CAD - BIM standards regulations and guidelines
• Proficient in the English language.
