Job summary

Currie & Brown in the United Arab Emirates is seeking an ambitious Project Controls Administrator to join its Cost Management and PMC team in the UAE. This role is ideal for an early-mid career professional with a civil engineering background, who enjoys data, reporting and business intelligence within the construction industry.

You will develop Power BI dashboards, automate reporting and leverage Copilot, Power Query and Microsoft 365 to improve project reporting and decision-making for clients.

Qualifications

  • BSc in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Strong interest in construction, project controls and digital technology.
  • Microsoft certification in Power BI advantageous but not essential.
  • Demonstrable experience creating Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables, lookups, data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience using Power Query for data transformation and automation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Understanding of data visualisation principles and dashboard design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with Cost Management and PMC teams to understand project reporting requirements.
  • Review existing cost reports, programme reports and project performance dashboards.
  • Able to integrate data sources from various platforms or project systems.
  • Develop interactive Power BI dashboards and visualisations for internal and external clients.
  • Create automated reporting solutions using Power BI, Excel and Power Query.
  • Design executive-level report templates that provide clear and actionable project insights.
  • Support the standardisation of reporting across multiple projects and clients.
  • Collect, organise and analyse project data from various sources.
  • Create and maintain Power Query data transformations and workflows.
  • Develop datasets, KPIs and reporting metrics.
  • Identify trends, variances and key project performance indicators.
  • Help improve data quality and reporting consistency across projects.
  • Utilise Microsoft Copilot to improve productivity, reporting efficiency and data analysis.
  • Support the adoption of digital tools and automation across the business.
  • Explore opportunities to leverage AI, Power Platform and Microsoft 365 technologies to enhance project reporting.
  • Contribute ideas for improving how project information is collected, analysed and presented.
  • Work directly with project teams, cost consultants and project managers.
  • Support client presentations and reporting workshops.
  • Provide dashboard demonstrations and user support.
  • Assist in delivering reporting solutions tailored to client requirements.

This role is ideal for a early-mid career project controls professional with civil engineer background, who has a passion for data, digital technology, reporting and business intelligence within the construction industry.

You will work closely with project managers, cost consultants and senior project controls and planning professionals to transform project and commercial data into meaningful insights for our clients.
