Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Specialist Project Engineer for an offshore Abu Dhabi development. The role focuses on developing and maintaining project performance dashboards using Power BI, data analytics, and reporting tools to drive decision-making.

You will collaborate with Project Managers and stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely reporting and governance. Applicants should have 8–12 years in project engineering or BI, with strong Power BI skills and experience in oil and gas or EPC

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
5+ years of Power BI experience; 8–12 years in project engineering or BI roles.
Experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, Construction, or energy projects preferred.
Power BI, data analytics, and reporting certification encouraged.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and optimize Power BI dashboards for project performance monitoring.
Create automated reporting solutions to improve data visibility and reduce manual reporting efforts.
Design executive dashboards presenting KPIs, project status, progress, and performance metrics.
Ensure timely preparation of weekly, monthly, and ad hoc management reports.
Collaborate with PMs and stakeholders to define reporting requirements and governance.
Support data governance and quality across reporting platforms.

KBR is growing its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for an exciting, high‑profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi. The ADNOC PMC project role would be based in Abu Dhabi .

Job Purpose

The Specialist Project Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing project performance dashboards, business intelligence solutions, and reporting frameworks to support project execution and management decision-making. The role will leverage Power BI, data analytics, and reporting tools to provide accurate insights into project schedules, costs, resources, risks, and overall performance.

Key Responsibilities

Dashboard & Reporting Management

Develop, maintain, and optimize Power BI dashboards and interactive reports for project performance monitoring.
Create automated reporting solutions to improve data visibility and reduce manual reporting efforts.
Design executive-level dashboards presenting KPIs, project status, progress, and performance metrics.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of weekly, monthly, and ad‑hoc management reports.

Data Analytics & Business Intelligence

Collect, analyze, and interpret project data from multiple sources including ERP systems, Primavera P6, SAP, SharePoint, and Excel.
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through advanced analytics and visualization techniques.
Develop data models, calculations, and KPIs using DAX and Power Query.
Support project teams with data-driven recommendations to improve project delivery performance.

Project Performance Monitoring

Monitor project schedules, cost performance, resource utilization, and progress tracking.
Develop dashboards for earned value management (EVM), project controls, and performance analysis.
Track project health indicators and highlight critical issues requiring management attention.
Ensure consistency and standardization of project reporting across multiple projects.

Stakeholder Management

Collaborate with Project Managers, Planning Engineers, Project Controls, and Business stakeholders to define reporting requirements.
Conduct presentations and reporting reviews with management and project teams.
Translate business requirements into effective reporting and visualization solutions.

Data Governance & Quality

Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across reporting platforms.
Establish reporting standards, dashboard governance, and best practices.
Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure reliable reporting.

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities for reporting automation and process improvement.
Implement innovative Power BI features and analytical tools to enhance business intelligence capabilities.
Support digital transformation initiatives within project management functions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related discipline.
Certification in Microsoft Power BI, Data Analytics, or Project Management is preferred.

Experience

8-12 years of experience in project engineering, project controls, reporting, or business intelligence.
Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience with Power BI dashboard development and reporting.
Experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, Construction, Infrastructure, or Energy projects preferred.
Strong understanding of project management and project controls methodologies.
