Job summary

Precision Group in Dubai requires an experienced CNC Programmer to prepare post and transfer programs for CNC machining with emphasis on high precision and optimal resource use.

The role entails interpreting drawings, selecting tooling, and guiding machine operators to achieve quality standards.

Qualifications

• In-depth understanding of G-codes.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret tolerances.
• Experience with various CNC controls and post processing.
• Proficiency in 3D modelling using UG/PRO-E and CAD/CAM tools.
• Knowledge of machinability of different metals and tool parameters.
• Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and QA procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Design to create post and transfer programs for CNC machining.
• Work with production to select and maintain production tooling.
• Ensure efficient operation and optimal use of tooling and consumables.
• Write instruction sheets and tool lists for machine operators.
• Monitor trials and simulations to ensure programs meet specifications and quality.
• Detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust as needed to ensure quality.
• Report machine issues to Supervisor and coordinate with Planning for capacity usage.
• Provide technical support to CNC operators throughout the process.
• Contribute to root-cause analysis for tool qualification improvements.
• Document work clearly and ensure records are accessible.

b JOB CONTENT T b o prepare programs for manufacturing tools as per the approved design with high precision quality and finish with optimum utilization of the available resources

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate with Design department to create post and transfer programs for CNC machining to carry out the job as per the given drawing specifications
• Work with production personnel to select and maintain production tooling
• Ensure efficient and profitable operation of the defined work center by optimum usage of tools consumables etc
• Write instruction sheets and tool lists for the machine s operator in order to guide setup and provide programs for machines
• Observe machines on trial runs or conduct computer simulations to ensure that programs amp machinery will function properly to produce items that meet specifications amp achieve the quality requirements of the product
• Detects equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusts machine within capabilities controls or control media as required to insure quality of productions
• Reports all machine malfunctions to the Supervisor
• To coordinate with planning department for maximum utilization of machine identify the difficulties in manufacturing and update the supervisor accordingly
• Provide technical support to CNC machine operators throughout the machine operations process
• Contribute to a problem solving process interrogation and root cause analysis for improving and troubleshooting our current tool qualification system
• To ensure proper documentation of work done and in a manner well accessible every time
• To undertake machining work in CNC machines and conventional machines if required
• Train and guide the machine operators in operating the machine as per SOP when instructed
• Maintain contact with software and equipment suppliers regarding new developments relevant to CNC PLC and numerical control fields
• Strictly follow housekeeping procedures including machine and tool equipment cleaning and ensure the surrounding area is absolutely clean and in order
• Follow company s HSE guidelines in respect of all operations undertaken and follow safety precautions highlighted in the SOP amp manuals
• Communicate potential hazards immediately to supervisor
• Perform any other job task assigned by the Production Supervisor to accomplish department objectives

Education/ Qualifications

Diploma in Engineering / ITI / Machinist. CNC Programming preferably in Die / Mould making CAD/CAM software, Auto CAD / Pro-E / Master cam / Unigraphic (UG). Experience Minimum 3 years of CNC Programming experience Experience in 5 Axis CNC machines. Preferably DMG machines.

Functional Skills & Specific Knowledge

• In depth understanding of G-codes
• Ability to read Engineering drawing, knowledge of various CNC controls and post processing
• Experience in 3D modelling on UG / PRO-E, etc.
• Knowledge on Machinability of different metals Conversant with cutting tools & parameters like speed, feed, etc.
• Precision measuring instruments & gauges
