Qualifications

Job Purpose

The Product Specialist is responsible for providing expert product knowledge and delivering outstanding customer service to support sales and enhance the customer shopping experience. The role assists customers in selecting suitable outdoor, sports, and adventure products while ensuring accurate product presentation, operational support, and alignment with Adventure HQ brand standards.

Roles and responsibilities

1. Product Knowledge & Customer Support

• Provide expert advice and guidance on outdoor, sports, and adventure products.
• Assist customers in selecting products based on their needs, activities, and preferences.
• Explain product features, specifications, benefits, and usage clearly.
• Build customer confidence through knowledgeable and consultative service.
• Stay updated on new products, trends, and brand developments.

2. Sales & Customer Experience

• Support achievement of sales targets and KPIs.
• Promote key products, promotions, and add-on items to maximize sales opportunities.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a positive shopping experience.
• Assist customers with product comparisons and purchasing decisions.
• Maintain strong customer engagement and service standards.

3. Store Operations & Merchandising

• Ensure products are properly displayed and merchandised according to brand standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned product areas.
• Ensure pricing, signage, and product information are accurate and updated.
• Support promotional campaigns, floor moves, and seasonal setups.

4. Inventory & Stock Support

• Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment of products.
• Assist in receiving, checking, and organizing inventory.
• Report low stock, damaged items, or discrepancies to management.
• Support stock counts and inventory audits when required.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of merchandise.

5. Team Collaboration

• Work closely with Store Managers, Department Leaders, and sales teams.
• Share product updates and knowledge with team members.
• Support staff training related to product features and customer engagement.
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; diploma or certification in sports, outdoor activities, or retail is an advantage.
• 2-4 years of retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Experience in outdoor, sports, lifestyle, or technical product retail is an advantage.
• Strong interest or knowledge in outdoor and adventure products preferred.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
