Job summary

Amana Group is seeking a procurement professional in the UAE with civil engineering background to manage materials, subcontractor selection, and procurement processes for construction projects.

You will develop supplier catalogs, issue RFQs, evaluate bids, and maintain procurement logs to support project schedules and budgets. Proficiency in Oracle ERP and bilingual communication (English/Arabic) are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 2 years procurement experience, preferably in construction.
• Familiarity with standard contract formats (FIDIC, JCT, Government).
• Fluency in English and Arabic (reading, writing, speaking).
• Proficiency with Oracle ERP (Procurement/P2P).

Responsibilities

• Study job technical requirements and recommend suitable materials and subcontractors.
• Develop and maintain technical library with supplier/subcontractor literature.
• Conduct market visits and trade shows to expand network and awareness.
• Prepare RFQs for materials and subcontract work and evaluate responses.
• Create and update material/subcontractor logs to meet procurement plan approvals.
• Prepare comparison sheets for technical prices, schedule and budget.
• Provide samples to site for client/ consultant approval.
• Support construction team for timely material delivery and address technical or payment issues.
• Prepare LOI, LOA and Subcontract Agreements in coordination with Sr Procurement Engineer.

Role overview

• To carefully study the job technical requirements specifications and recommend the most suitable materials and subcontractors that satisfies the jobs cost time and quality constraints To develop and maintain technical library for the company that includes technical material for approved suppliers and subcontractors Conducts market visit and trade shows to increase his market network and awareness Develops maintains and updates the technical library with the relevant supplier subcontractor brochures and catalogs Introduces new subcontractors from market who shall offer best prices quality and payment terms Responsible for the material procurement database Responsible for the development and prequalification of sub-contractors and vendors Generates the required material and subcontractor logs to meet the Procurement plan to the approval of Procurement amp Subcontracts Manager Sends Request for Quotation RFQ for material and subcontract work to meet projects schedule received from Planning Collects responses to RFQ and quotations for material and subcontract work and upload them in share-point module Prepares comparison sheets for technical prices schedule and budget evaluation and obtains approval from Procurement and Subcontracts Manager and uploads them in share-point module Upgrades sub-contractor and material logs for site consultant and planning for their progress report Responsible for providing material samples to site for client consultant approval Reviews and initial Local Purchase Orders made by Purchaser s Supports Construction team for timely delivery of materials technical issues and payments issues if any Ensures purchased items are complied with projects requirements and specifications Prepares Letter of Intent Letter of Acceptance and Subcontract Agreements in coordination with Sr Procurement Engineer Officer Reviews and oversees technical evaluations compliance assessments and scope matrices for major subcontractors to ensure alignment with procurement requirements and project objectives Discusses vendors from approved vendor list with Sr Procurement Engineer Officer and Procurement and Subcontracts Manager prior to release any major Request For Quotation Attends Procurement Department internal weekly meeting and provides feedback on his respective project Attends site meetings as and when necessary Assists in the training and development of personnel in the Procurement and Subcontracts department Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering ( Civil)Minimum of 2 years of procurement experience, preferably in the construction industry.Strong communication, negotiation, and teamwork skillsAbility to solve problems, adapt to challenges, and drive resultsCommitment to professional growth and process excellenceFamiliarity with standard contract formats (FIDIC, JCT, Government, etc)Proficiency in computer and commercial skillsExperience with Oracle ERP (Procurement/P2P modules) is preferred.Fluency in English and Arabic (reading, writing, and speaking)
