What You'll Do

• Plan and deliver engaging foundation stage lessons that support early learning, creativity, communication, and social development.
• Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom where young learners feel encouraged to explore, ask questions, and build confidence.
• Use play‑based learning, storytelling, phonics, early numeracy activities and hands‑on classroom experiences to support student progress.
• Monitor each child's development through observation, assessment, classroom interaction and regular progress tracking.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet different learning needs, abilities, and developmental stages.
• Build strong relationships with parents and provide clear updates on student wellbeing, behaviour and academic growth.
• Work closely with teaching assistants, phase leaders and other teachers to maintain consistent classroom routines and learning standards.
• Integrate sustainability awareness and positive values into age‑appropriate classroom activities.
• Support school events, assemblies, parent meetings and wider early years initiatives.
• Follow safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, and school policy requirements at all times.

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor degree in Education, Early Childhood Education or a relevant subject with recognised teaching qualification.
• PGCE, PGDE, B.Ed or equivalent teaching qualification is preferred.
• Experience teaching foundation stage, early years, kindergarten or primary lower years in a school environment.
• Strong understanding of early childhood development, classroom routines, phonics, early literacy and numeracy foundations.
• Ability to create a nurturing classroom culture that supports emotional, social and academic growth.
• Creative and enthusiastic teaching approach inside and outside the classroom.
• Excellent communication skills for working with young children, parents and school teams.
• Good IT skills for lesson planning, classroom resources and student progress documentation.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
• Ability to provide required police clearance, UK‑enhanced DBS or equivalent background checks.
