Job summary

Ideal candidates hold a diploma or technical certificate in Mechanical or Electrical studies and have at least three years in pool maintenance or a related engineering role; luxury hotel experience is a plus,

Responsibilities

• Coordinate on-site maintenance staff and assist Pool Attendants as needed.

Job Overview

Accor is seeking a Pool Technician - Water Systems Maintenance in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for a technical Hospitality opportunity within the hotel 's Engineering department. The role maintains swimming pools, water fountains, pump stations and related equipment while protecting water quality, guest safety and preventive maintenance standards.

Role Context

The Pool Technician performs daily technical and water-treatment activities under the direction of the Pool Supervisor. The position combines equipment maintenance, chemical handling, water testing and on-site coordination of Pool Attendants to keep aquatic facilities clean, balanced and continuously available for guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain swimming pools, water fountains and the connected circulation network in reliable operating condition.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance on pumps, filtration systems, lighting and related machinery.
• Add approved pool chemicals according to instructions provided by the Pool Supervisor.
• Test water-balance parameters every day and record results accurately in operational log sheets.
• Escalate abnormal chemical readings and equipment performance concerns for timely corrective action.
• Inspect and maintain interior swimming pool lights.
• Perform minor electrical maintenance at pool pump stations within authorized technical limits.
• Update preventive maintenance records and communicate completed work to the Pool Supervisor.
• Apply required precautions when storing, handling and using chemical products.
• Guide Pool Attendants during daily cleaning and maintenance activities.
• Monitor work practices to protect employees, guests and the surrounding environment.
• Maintain the required health, hygiene and water-quality conditions across all swimming facilities.
• Keep pump stations, maintenance areas and tools clean, orderly and safe.
• Build effective working relationships with the pool team to support guest requirements outside regular hours.
• Report technical defects, safety risks and supply requirements before they disrupt pool operations.

Ideal Profile

The suitable candidate holds a diploma or technical certificate in Mechanical or Electrical studies and has at least three years of experience in pool maintenance or a comparable engineering role. Previous luxury hotel experience is an advantage. The position requires disciplined chemical handling, practical troubleshooting abilities and confidence in coordinating on-site maintenance staff.
