Job summary

Simone's Tutoring in Dubai seeks a qualified Play Therapist to deliver child-centered play therapy for ages 3–12, addressing emotional, behavioral, or developmental needs. You will create a safe space to help children express and heal through play across home, online, schools, clinics.

The role is freelance/contract with licensing requirements (DHA/DOH/MOHAP) and regulatory compliance. You will conduct assessments, provide both non-directive and directive sessions, involve parents, and document

Qualifications

• Post-graduate diploma or Master’s degree in Play Therapy.
• Licence eligibility: DHA/DOH/MOHAP to practise in the UAE.
• Registered with a recognised play therapy association (e.g. PTUK, APT).
• 2+ years post-qualification play therapy experience.

Responsibilities

Role Overview

We are seeking a qualified Play Therapist to provide child-centred play therapy interventions for children aged 3–12 experiencing emotional, behavioural, or developmental difficulties. You will create a safe, therapeutic space for children to express themselves and heal through play.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial consultations and assessments with children and parents
• Deliver non-directive and directive play therapy sessions
• Establish a safe, consistent, and child-led therapeutic environment
• Work with children experiencing trauma, anxiety, bereavement, and attachment difficulties
• Involve parents in filial therapy and parenting support where appropriate
• Write session notes and progress summaries
• Liaise with schools and other professionals as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• Post-graduate diploma or Master's degree in Play Therapy
• Valid DHA, DOH, or MOHAP licence (or eligibility to obtain)
• Registered member of a recognised play therapy association (e.g. PTUK, APT)
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification play therapy experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Training in filial therapy
• Experience with children who have experienced trauma or ACEs
• Child protection and safeguarding training

UAE Licensing Requirements

This role requires a valid UAE healthcare professional licence issued by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Department of Health Abu Dhabi (DOH), or Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP). Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, the relevant licence before providing services. Licensing requirements must comply with UAE regulations.
