Job summary

ServiceNow Platform & Solution Architect

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Platform & Solution Architect to provide strategic, architectural, and technical leadership across the ServiceNow ecosystem. This role combines enterprise platform ownership with solution architecture responsibilities, ensuring ServiceNow solutions are aligned with business objectives while maintaining platform integrity, scalability, security, and long-term sustainability.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise across multiple ServiceNow modules and be capable of translating business requirements into scalable architectural solutions while governing platform standards, design patterns, integrations, and best practices. You will play a critical role in shaping the ServiceNow roadmap, guiding delivery teams, and ensuring successful implementation of enterprise-wide ServiceNow capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Architecture & Governance

• Define and maintain enterprise architecture standards, design principles, and governance frameworks for the ServiceNow platform.
• Establish scalable, secure, and maintainable platform architecture aligned to organizational objectives and ServiceNow best practices.
• Lead platform-wide architectural decisions involving data models, integrations, security frameworks, automation strategies, and platform extensibility.
• Evaluate new ServiceNow products, capabilities, and releases, providing recommendations for adoption and platform evolution.
• Ensure architectural consistency and governance across all ServiceNow workstreams, projects, and implementations.

Solution Architecture & Design

• Lead the end-to-end solution architecture for ServiceNow initiatives across ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, SPM, IRM/GRC, Workplace Service Delivery, and custom applications.
• Translate business, technical, and regulatory requirements into scalable solution designs and implementation roadmaps.
• Produce architecture artefacts including solution blueprints, integration designs, data models, non-functional requirements, and technical specifications.
• Facilitate architecture workshops, design reviews, and stakeholder sessions to align business needs with ServiceNow capabilities.
• Guide implementation teams in applying best practices and maximizing out-of-the-box functionality while minimizing technical debt.

Integration & Enterprise Architecture

• Define and govern integration strategies between ServiceNow and enterprise applications, cloud platforms, infrastructure technologies, and third-party systems.
• Ensure data architecture, CMDB strategy, and service models align with enterprise data governance standards.
• Provide architectural leadership for API-based integrations, IntegrationHub solutions, event-driven architectures, and automation initiatives.
• Collaborate with enterprise, infrastructure, security, and application architects to ensure alignment across the broader technology landscape.

Delivery Leadership & Technical Oversight

• Provide architectural oversight throughout project lifecycles, from demand intake and solution design through implementation and transition to support.
• Guide development teams on technical architecture, coding standards, configuration approaches, and platform optimization.
• Review complex technical designs, custom applications, integrations, and enhancements to ensure alignment with architectural standards.
• Identify and manage architectural risks, dependencies, and technical debt across ServiceNow initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership

• Partner with business leaders, product owners, project managers, and technology teams to define platform roadmaps and solution strategies.
• Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on ServiceNow capabilities, platform investments, and transformation opportunities.
• Mentor architects, consultants, developers, and administrators to drive architectural maturity and technical excellence.
• Present architectural strategies, recommendations, and roadmaps to senior leadership and governance boards.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

• Stay current with ServiceNow releases, industry trends, emerging technologies, and architectural best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve platform adoption, automation, operational efficiency, and user experience.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on platform optimization, governance, scalability, and value realization.

Required Experience & Skills:

• 8+ years of experience working with the ServiceNow platform, including solution design, architecture, implementation, and platform governance.
• Proven experience in Solution Architect, Platform Architect, Lead Architect, or Technical Architect roles within large enterprise environments.
• Deep expertise across multiple ServiceNow modules including ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, SPM, IRM/GRC, and Employee Workflows.
• Strong understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture, CMDB/CSDM, integrations, security models, workflow automation, and governance frameworks.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale ServiceNow solutions spanning multiple business functions and technology domains.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP APIs, and modern integration patterns.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, infrastructure technologies, cloud platforms, security frameworks, and data governance.
• Experience leading architecture workshops, stakeholder engagements, and solution review boards.
• Experience working within Agile and large-scale transformation programmes.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) required.
• One or more ServiceNow CIS certifications required.
• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) preferred.
• ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or Certified Master Architect (CMA) highly desirable.
• ITIL Foundation certification preferred.
