Job summary

BG Global in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, is seeking an experienced Automation Technician to maintain and optimize PLC, DCS, and automation systems for reliable plant operations. The successful candidate will interpret P&IDs, schedule cabling, and support third‑party communications.

Requirements include 3–5 years in starch manufacturing, ITI/ Diploma or higher in automation or related fields, and strong Excel/documentation skills. Siemens S7 PLC experience is essential; PCS 7 is a plus.

Qualifications

ITI/ Diploma or Bachelor's in Automation, Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
3–5 years of experience in the starch manufacturing industry.
Hands-on experience with Siemens S7 PLCs; PCS 7 knowledge is an advantage.
Experience with DCS networking, third-party communication, cable scheduling, and loop checking.

Responsibilities

Maintain, troubleshoot, and support PLC, DCS, and automation control systems.
Read and interpret P&IDs and understand process control logic.
Prepare cable schedules and perform hot & cold loop checking.
Support DCS networking and third-party communication systems.
Maintain UPS systems to ensure uninterrupted operation of automation equipment.
Assist in commissioning, testing, and optimizing automation systems.
Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
