Tanqeeb in Dubai seeks an experienced Planning Manager - Civil to lead planning and project control for civil/infrastructure projects. Develops schedules, tracks progress, and coordinates with project teams to meet timelines.
The role requires 10–15 years in planning and strong Primavera P6/MS Project skills, with experience guiding planning engineers and managing complex schedules.
We are looking for an experienced Planning Manager - Civil to lead and manage planning and project control activities for civil, infrastructure, and construction projects. The role will be responsible for developing project schedules, monitoring progress, identifying delays, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring projects are completed within the approved timelines.
Develop, review, and maintain detailed project baseline schedules using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
Prepare project planning strategies, work breakdown structures (WBS), activity sequencing, resource requirements, and project milestones.
Monitor actual progress against the approved baseline and identify delays, slippages, and critical activities.
Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Site Engineers, QS, Procurement, Commercial, and subcontractors to collect accurate progress updates.
Prepare and monitor daily, weekly, monthly, and look-ahead schedules.
Track manpower, equipment, material availability, productivity, and site progress against planned targets.
Conduct critical path analysis and identify activities affecting project completion.
Prepare recovery programmes and mitigation plans for delayed activities and monitor their implementation.
Analyse project performance and provide regular updates to senior management on progress, delays, risks, and required corrective actions.
Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, S-curves, histograms, progress charts, and other planning reports.
Coordinate with project teams to establish realistic activity durations, construction sequences, and target dates.
Review subcontractor and supplier schedules and ensure alignment with the overall project programme.
Monitor procurement and material delivery schedules to ensure they support planned construction activities.
Track project milestones, key deliverables, approvals, inspections, testing, handover, and completion activities.
Coordinate with consultants and clients regarding project schedules, progress updates, programme submissions, and recovery plans.
Assist in preparation and evaluation of Extension of Time (EOT), delay analysis, disruption, and time-related claims where required.
Maintain proper records of project progress, delays, instructions, approvals, and other schedule-related documentation.
Identify potential planning risks and provide early warnings to the project management team.
Ensure planning activities are aligned with contractual requirements and project objectives.
Lead and guide the planning team and review the work of Planning Engineers and Junior Planning Engineers.
Conduct regular planning/progress meetings and follow up on agreed action points.
Support project management in achieving planned project completion within the approved schedule.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
10-15 years of relevant experience in planning and project controls, preferably within civil construction, infrastructure, roads, utilities, or contracting projects.
Strong experience in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
Good knowledge of construction planning, scheduling, resource planning, progress measurement, and project controls.
Experience in managing multiple projects and planning teams.
Knowledge of critical path, baseline programmes, S-curves, productivity tracking, recovery schedules, and delay analysis.
Experience working with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project management teams.
Knowledge of EOT and delay analysis will be an advantage.
Strong analytical, coordination, reporting, and communication skills.
