Tanqeeb is seeking an experienced Planning Manager – Electrical to lead planning and project control for electrical, power transmission, distribution, substations, and infrastructure projects in Dubai. You will develop programmes, monitor progress, manage the planning team, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure on-schedule delivery.
The role requires 10–15 years of relevant experience, strong Primavera P6 and MS Project skills, and proven leadership in complex electrical projects.
We are hiring for an experienced Planning Manager – Electrical to lead and manage planning and project control activities for electrical, power transmission, distribution, substation, and infrastructure projects. The role will be responsible for developing project programmes, monitoring progress, managing the planning team, coordinating with project stakeholders, identifying delays, and ensuring projects are completed within the approved timelines.
Lead and manage the planning team, including Planning Engineers and Junior Planning Engineers, and ensure timely completion of planning deliverables.
Develop, review, and maintain detailed baseline project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
Prepare project WBS, activity sequencing, construction programmes, resource requirements, and project milestones.
Develop detailed schedules covering electrical works such as cable laying, installation, substations, transmission and distribution networks, testing, commissioning, and energization.
Monitor actual progress against the approved baseline and identify delays, slippages, critical activities, and potential risks.
Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Electrical Engineers, Site Teams, Procurement, Commercial/QS, QA/QC, HSE, and subcontractors to obtain accurate progress updates.
Prepare and monitor daily, weekly, monthly, and look‑ahead schedules.
Track manpower, materials, equipment, productivity, and work fronts against planned targets.
Monitor activities related to material procurement, delivery, cable pulling, installation, termination, jointing, testing, commissioning, inspections, approvals, and energization.
Track engineering deliverables, drawings, technical submittals, material approvals, inspections, and client/consultant approvals against the project schedule.
Prepare S-curves, progress reports, histograms, dashboards, productivity reports, and management reports.
Conduct critical path analysis and identify activities that may impact project completion.
Develop recovery programmes and mitigation plans for delayed activities and monitor their implementation.
Review subcontractor and supplier programmes and ensure alignment with the overall project schedule.
Coordinate with procurement and engineering teams to ensure timely availability of electrical materials and equipment required for planned activities.
Track project milestones related to installation, testing, commissioning, authority approvals, energization, and final handover.
Conduct regular planning and progress review meetings and follow up on agreed action points.
Coordinate with clients and consultants regarding programme submissions, progress updates, delays, recovery plans, and schedule-related matters.
Assist in the preparation of EOT, delay analysis, disruption, and time-related claims where required.
Maintain proper records of delays, variations, instructions, approvals, and other schedule-related documentation.
Identify potential project risks and provide early warnings and corrective recommendations to senior management.
Review and approve planning reports, schedules, forecasts, and progress submissions prepared by the planning team.
Allocate responsibilities within the planning team, monitor performance, and ensure planning deliverables are completed within deadlines.
Provide guidance to project teams on planning, priorities, resource requirements, and schedule recovery strategies.
Support senior management in resource forecasting, project performance reviews, strategic planning, and project prioritisation.
Ensure proper planning procedures, reporting standards, and project control systems are followed across projects.
Train and mentor junior planning staff and support their professional development.
Maintain effective communication and coordination with internal departments, clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
Demonstrate strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, delegation, stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
10–15 years of relevant experience in electrical/power project planning and project controls.
Strong hands‑on experience with Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
Proven experience in managing planning teams and multiple electrical projects.
Strong knowledge of electrical construction planning, scheduling, resource planning, progress measurement, and project controls.
Experience in baseline programmes, critical path analysis, recovery schedules, S-curves, productivity tracking, and delay analysis.
Experience coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project management teams.
Knowledge of EOT and contractual delay analysis will be an advantage.
Strong leadership, analytical, communication, coordination, and reporting abilities.
