Job summary

Discovery Landscape & Gardening Services LLC in Abu Dhabi seeks a Planning Engineer to lead schedules for landscape construction and maintenance projects. You will develop and maintain project baselines, coordinate with project managers and site teams, and ensure plans align with scope, budget, and timelines.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering or construction management degree, 4–6 years of planning experience, and strong Primavera P6 proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Hands-on Primavera P6 experience is essential.
• 4–6 years of planning/scheduling experience in landscape, infrastructure, or construction.
• Experience with ADM/DMT projects is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of FIDIC and contractual requirements is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain baseline programmes using Primavera P6.
• Prepare project schedules, WBS, activity logic, durations, and critical path analysis.
• Prepare and update 2-4 week look-ahead schedules in coordination with site teams.
• Monitor actual site progress and update project programmes accordingly.
• Collect and verify progress information from Project Managers, Site Engineers, subcontractors, and other project teams.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, S-curves, dashboards, and other planning reports.
• Monitor critical activities, identify delays and schedule slippages, and highlight potential risks.
• Coordinate with Construction, Engineering, Procurement, and Project Management teams to ensure proper project sequencing.
• Maintain planning records, progress backup, schedule narratives, and programme documentation.
• Support preparation of MOMs, client/consultant presentations, and progress meeting requirements.
• Ensure programme submissions and planning deliverables comply with project contract requirements and client/consultant requirements.
• Support delay analysis, recovery programmes, and extension of time / claims-related planning activities when required.

Role Description

This full-time, on-site Planning Engineer role is based in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates. The Planning Engineer will develop and maintain project schedules for landscaping and gardening works, ensuring alignment with project scope, budget, and timelines. Daily tasks include coordinating with project managers, site supervisors, and procurement teams, monitoring progress, and updating plans to reflect actual site conditions. The role involves analyzing resource requirements, preparing production plans, tracking project milestones, and supporting project control activities such as reporting, risk identification, and performance evaluation. The Planning Engineer will also participate in technical meetings, provide clear communication to stakeholders, and support continuous optimization of project workflows and processes.

• Previous experience with Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM) and DMT projects is required / highly preferred.
• Experience working with consultants, clients, and government authorities in Abu Dhabi.
• Hands-on experience with Primavera P6 is essential.
• Good knowledge of baseline programmes, critical path, progress measurement, resource loading, and schedule updates.
• Experience in preparing recovery programmes and delay analysis is an advantage.
• Knowledge of FIDIC and contractual requirements is an advantage.
