The Planner - Project Scheduling in Dubai focuses on EPFCIC project schedules, Primavera P6 planning, workforce histograms, progress curves, resource loading, and schedule control for offshore and onshore oil and gas projects. The role involves developing and maintaining Level 3 and Level 4 schedules, analyzing project progress, reviewing sequence logic, supporting critical path control, preparing resource inputs, and assisting senior planners with schedule updates and performance reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain logically linked Level 3 and Level 4 EPFCIC schedules for offshore and onshore oil and gas projects under the guidance of senior planners.
- Build project schedules in line with precedence flow diagrams, project execution requirements, planning standards, and industry best practices.
- Produce workforce histograms, progress curves, quantity curves, and planning reports connected to project schedules.
- Review and maintain the sequence of engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, installation, hook‑up, commissioning, and related project activities.
- Support critical path analysis and overall project duration control by monitoring schedule logic, activity progress, constraints, and milestone movement.
- Identify activities or operations causing schedule delays and escalates concerns for timely resolution.
- Analyze schedule changes caused by unforeseen project conditions and support recovery planning where required.
- Prepare lists of required resources, materials, tools, and equipment for input into work packages.
- Apply advanced work package principles to support effective project execution, sequencing, and productivity planning.
- Develop, resource‑load, level, and update project activities in alignment with earned value management systems.
- Use project data, historical information, and current progress trends to support schedule analysis and project insights.
- Maintain accurate planning data and ensure information is updated, stored, and controlled according to project requirements.
- Respond to data requests by using available project information and presenting clear planning insights.
- Analyze data sets to identify trends, correlations, schedule risks, productivity issues, and progress performance indicators.
- Support reporting requirements by preparing updated schedules, planning curves, dashboards, tables, and progress summaries.
- Assist in mentoring junior planning team members and support functional training where required.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning teams to ensure schedule information is accurate and aligned.
- Apply critical thinking, technical judgment, and planning precedents to resolve straightforward scheduling issues.
Ideal Profile / Qualifications
- Associate's degree or bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Business Management, or a related discipline.
- Equivalent combinations of technical training and relevant project planning experience may be considered.
- 5-7 years of project planning experience on offshore or onshore oil and gas projects.
- Strong command of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Good knowledge of Primavera P6 interaction with other project software, disciplines, and reporting systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including curves, histograms, dynamic tables, formulas, and schedule‑related data analysis.
- Understanding of Level 3 and Level 4 scheduling, project progress tracking, critical path control, and resource‑loaded schedules.
- Knowledge of earned value management systems and their application in project planning and performance measurement.
- Good understanding of advanced work package principles and schedule integration.
- Ability to analyze historical data, current trends, project progress, and planning information to provide useful project insights.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage, update, verify, and store planning data accurately.
- Ability to think critically, solve problems, and apply sound judgment to straightforward planning and scheduling situations.
- Competency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to mentor junior team members and support planning‑related knowledge sharing.
